She covered her eyes with her hand. They felt hot against her palm. The rain that began to trickle down the window had now turned into a full blown torrent, making the sky look even more gloomy. She opened the curtain and was glaring out at the damned rain when a cellphone began to ring. Lily opened a drawer and pulled out a phone ringing to the melody of an old trot song. Two days ago, Ethan gave her this cell phone.

"Hello?"

— It's me.

When she heard the voice of the main character who was filling up every space in her head, Lily gulped.

"The phone looks new, but why does the ringtone sound like this?"

— Your tastes were always a bit old anyway. I was just matching it to your style.

Lily opened the refrigerator to find something to drink, but all she had was liquor. Lily pulled out a can of beer and cracked it open. She quenched her parched throat by gulping it down. She heard Ethan's voice in her ear.
