'Do one thing every day that scares you'
Yeah, like hell, I should risk myself if I'm in a situation I can't put myself in. Classmates. Teachers. Friends. Relatives. They all told me the same thing, just because I wasn't as athletic as them.
In my school, it didn't matter whether or not you were smart. As long as you have your athletic skills, you'll be fine. Bonus points if you have the brains and brawns... Me? Oh, I'm a bookworm... Lazy? Eh, I know.
I mean, at least we have cool imaginations, right? Like, you wouldn't even reach where you are without thinking too much about it and imagining your future in it.
My mindset is set to 'If you can't imagine yourself being in that position, then don't be one at all.' Cliché, isn't it? Well, it's better than risking your life by a bunch of things that scare you, and here comes the people saying
"Conquer your fears by doing that activity that scares you."
Bullshit. Like, did you have to go to a dark, haunted house to conquer your fear when turning off the lights and not running as if a bear was chasing you? Hell nah. If anything, as you grow up, those childish thoughts will easily vanish, especially for people with phobias. Would you want to risk being stuck in a room with your phobia? Personally, if I ever had one, nope. Imma ditch that thought.
So, I became a writer... I loved writing my ideas, so why not? I used this as... well, my very own stress relief.
You're probably wondering why on earth I would be so irritated hearing that quote. Well, it was mostly because I was a coward ever since my only friend's incident. That stupid rascal won't listen to me and ends up doing something unthinkable, showing off his parkour talents. In the end, he was injured badly, so badly that he couldn't walk. You're probably thinking, 'Why are you the one upset about it when you weren't the one who suffered?'
Well because I was an orphan. From that accident, I thought
Were my parents' reckless actions causing their deaths, leaving me behind on this earth?'
As such, I matured early and only took risks if ever needed or necessary.

Alone in my room, I decided to update my web novel. And well, I hoped I shouldn't have checked my previous chapter comments.
Blueberry2314: Dammit, why are there still cliffhangers in this fight? Like enough already...
----> Redshoes21: Agreed, like, the plot is more than enough. Any more of these cliffhangers, and I'm really goi...
--------> Lifetoon: Chillax and give the author a break; they are probably busy
Fantastic5: Ooo, a new chapter dropped
Moonstar: F*cking finally!!
Mo....
....
Well, at least there are still people who do enjoy my story. It does show how people can relate to this story. Well, despite it being a cliché story set in a modern-ish setting, It was still the good old, weak-to-strong type of protagonist. But who cares, as long as it interests some readers? Why on earth should I change the main plot of the story? I mean, I already put some things you all wanted. Why should I change the main treat?
"Haa. How annoying," I sighed as I finally stood up from my comfortable chair to go take some fresh air.
'I should probably also buy some food...' I wondered and walked past a couple of stores near my building. I, basically, went out for food shopping instead of enjoying the air.
"Bored of life, are you now?"
A voice that was like a whisper but could be heard enough for one person to listen. I looked around to see who was calling and pointed to myself
"Did you call me?"
"Yes, you..." The unknown man says this as he puts his hands in his pockets.
This man was like any other wealthy, employed businessman. With his smooth hair and a well-defined jawline. His looks are almost enough to attract most people in my school. A long, beige-colored coat and his beige suit It looked like he just got out of his office.
"You're staring quite a bit too much now..." He says this as he chuckles slightly. The voice was enough to get me to stop being mesmerized by his face and sense of fashion. Yes, I like reading and fashion.
"Ah, very sorry. It's just that I am quite shocked as to why a person like you approached me."
It wasn't a half-lie... Despite being mesmerized by his sense of fashion and looks, I wondered why he had to approach me out of everyone
"Oh? It's nothing; I was just wanting to talk to someone."
"Ahh... alright, I guess..."
That still didn't answer my question, though, but instead of feeding my curiosity by asking more questions, I ended up silencing myself and just letting him be. I'm also quite bored anyway, so another reason for me to just let him talk
"How's things going so far? From the looks of it, it seems that you are still in high school..."
"Ah, nothing much, really... Just a bunch of assignments being thrown here and there..."
"Haha. That seems to be so."
"Yeah..."
Agreeing with him, I took a bag of chips that I had just bought from the store I just left.
"Don't you think life is too boring?"
"Mm, yeah, but I would prefer it like that rather than doing something which scares the shit out of me."
"Right. Well. Want to try something different?"
Did this man just not hear me, or did he just abruptly ignore what I said?...
"Like what?"
"Hmm... Like..." He says as he rubs his chin as he thinks of something
"Never mind. You'll figure it out yourself."
"Ahh... Alright?"
Weird. Just one word from this conversation Weird
"I'll be setting off now." He waves his hand as he says his goodbyes and mutters under his breath, "Hope your life will become more enjoyable as it is..."
"Huh? What did you-.."
Just as I was asking what he just said, he was already far away from me.
-Haa
I sighed. People really are weird, no matter how they look.
