As we sit in the living room, our thoughts preoccupied with the issue before us, I can't help but have the stray thought that we will fail.

That we are not united enough

That I am not trusted enough.

That I am not enough and that I am going to fail Natalie.

"Damien," Harvey's voice cuts through the haze of doubt and as it reaches my ears.

I look up at him in question and I see his calm green eyes focused on me.

"Don't fret too much. We know the truth, all we have to do is find a way to bring it to light, and in all my years that I have lived, I know there is always a way."

"Hmm," I hum as I send him a small but grateful smile.

"So-"

Cain is interrupted from whatever he wants to say by a sharp knock echoing through the room, bringing with it a semblance of normality.

That despite the issues and trials and the impossibility that face us, life still goes on.
