Zack, his arrogance undeterred, said, "What? Are you bitter because I received more than you?"
Drake was left in disbelief by Zack's revelation. He couldn't fathom what he was hearing. Zack had amassed a billion dollars through the system and acted as if it were no big deal, presuming he had received even more than Drake.
Drake finally managed to respond, "Zack, it's not just about the amount. I'm simply surprised that you got anything at all. I thought I was the only one."
Zack scratched his head, wearing a sly grin, and asked, "Why did you think that?"
"Well, isn't the system all about tribute?"
"Forget about Tribute. That miniature temple thing isn't even in there anymore," Zack grumbled.
"You mean the miniature temple can move?"
Drake realized that the temple's location wasn't fixed. He thought inwardly, “Oh, that's why it disappeared after I made an offering."
"I don't know, man. It's just not there anymore. Didn't you check for yourself?"
"No, I was too drunk to even remember where we first saw the miniature temple."
Zack laughed at Drake again and said, "Haha! I bet that’s the reason why you only received $100,000,000! You should have increased your alcohol tolerance."
"It’s not that. You didn't even pray sincerely at that time."
"What are you trying to point at? Why do you act like I don’t deserve the system?" Zack asked, giving Drake an annoyed look.
"I just thought the tribute system was meant for those favored by the gods."
"So you're saying the gods wouldn't like me?"
"It's not that. Didn't you have a bad reputation?" Drake clarified.
"What reputation?"
"I recently visited Gracestone, and I heard you have a bad reputation there."
"Seriously? They're still going on about that? I already gave back the money I stole. Those people just can't move on," Zack grumbled.
Drake was even more taken aback by Zack's confession.
"I barely know this guy. I just mentioned his bad reputation, and he's already admitting to stealing money. How much did he actually steal? Can I trust him? Do I need to spill the beans about having a quintillion, even though we both have the same system?" Drake wondered.
"So, how much did you get?" Zack asked.
Drake hesitated for a moment before replying, "I received around $100,000,000."
Zack burst into laughter. "Man, that's still a ton of money! You should be happy! You're rich too!"
Drake couldn't help but smile at Zack's reaction. It was true; $100,000,000 was a significant sum, and it had changed his life, but the real amount on his system was something Zack shouldn't feel sorry for. He replied, "Yeah, it's more than I ever had before."
Zack slapped him on the back, still grinning. "Well, you're in the club now, buddy. We're both beneficiaries of this crazy system. Life's going to be a wild ride from here on."
“Yes, we are," Drake agreed. "But Zack, how did you withdraw your money?"
"Are you asking about the coins?" Zack said. He then withdrew a handful of coins and started throwing them one by one toward the approaching circuit crews and staff who came to rescue them.
Drake was taken aback by Zack's nonchalant attitude and actions.
"What are you doing?" Drake asked, his shock evident in his voice as he watched Zack excitedly pelt people with coins.
"I am showing how I withdraw coins. We can only withdraw in coins, right? No problem! I basically pay them with coins," Zack explained with a wild grin.
"You literally just paid with coins? Won't that raise suspicion?" Drake inquired, growing more concerned by the second.
"What suspicion? If they get suspicious, kill them with the coins. It's not hard enough to kill a person." Zack laughed loudly, his demeanor becoming increasingly erratic.
Drake couldn't believe what he was witnessing. It was clear that Zack had a completely different approach to using the system, and it made Drake question whether he wanted to be associated with someone who treated life and wealth so recklessly. Zack seemed to be taking the tribute system to extremes.
"Zack, that's not how we should be using this system," Drake said, trying to reason with him.
"Oh, come on, Drake, don't be such a buzzkill," Zack replied with a grin. "We've got this incredible system, and you want to play by the rules? That's boring."
"Zack, there are consequences to our actions," Drake insisted. "We don't know the full extent of this system's power, and we shouldn't abuse it like this."
Zack rolled his eyes and stopped throwing coins. "Fine, fine, Mr. Responsible. If you want to be all goody-two-shoes about it, go ahead. But I'm going to have some fun with it. I can’t help it if you’re too jealous that I am a billionaire."
Drake sighed, realizing that he couldn't control Zack. "Just be careful, Zack. We don't know what kind of trouble this could bring."
Zack waved him off dismissively. "Don't worry so much, Drake. Life's too short to be boring." With that, he revved up his damaged sports car and sped away, leaving Drake standing there, still in shock at the encounter.
Meanwhile, Zack White, driving his partially wrecked sports car onto the highway, sped without regard for traffic rules. He gritted his teeth, glaring at the road ahead.
"He received a quintillion coins, huh?" he muttered, gripping the steering wheel angrily. "Who the heck are you lying to? I can clearly see your balance!" he continued to yell and curse, talking to himself.
Just like Drake, he couldn't trust people's words either. He used his system to check Drake's balance personally and discovered the vast difference in their wealth.
"I already offered tribute ten times before reaching a billion! I started off with just a million! Does this damn system have favoritism too? What's so great about Drake? Why give him so much when I had to suffer so much searching for that damn miniature temple?"
"The system doesn't have any favoritism. All the benefits and coins the user receives depend on the value of the tribute offered," Zack's system replied.
"Value of tribute?" Zack snorted. "What kind of tribute did he offer that he got a one-time big-time reward? I was with him when he offered a penny on the temple. Just admit that you have favoritism!"
"Please offer more valuable tribute so you can have the same reward as user Drake Chwe," the system bluntly replied.
"What kind of specific tribute, then?" Zack asked irritably, already anticipating the system's response.
"There is no specific tribute I can suggest; it all depends on your offering's sincerity."
Zack rolled his eyes and said, "Fine. I don't like competition anyway, so I must eliminate him now. Tell me information about Drake Chwe."
"That would cost $500,000,000."
"Personal information usually costs 50,000 coins!" Zack protested. "Even at this, he's valuable?"
"Do you want to proceed with your purchase?" The system ignored his protest.
"No! Why would I spend half of my wealth on his information?"
"Okay, purchase cancelled."
Zack White zoomed his car onto the highway, causing other cars in traffic to swerve into different lanes. He then took out his phone and dialed a number.
With gritted teeth, he said, "Hello, I've got a job for you. Eliminate this guy named Drake Chwe."
