The Beggar's Sibling

The next day, Eleanor bravely stood before the nurse's office, holding Drake's personal documents in a worn brown envelope. Her brother lay still, deeply asleep, and she knew she was the sole member of their family that he could rely on. The daunting task ahead was managing insurance and medical bills for his care.

"Miss Eleanor, why are you here?" the nurse recognized her.

"My brother is in Ward 369, and he can't handle the paperwork for his stay. Can you guide me on what needs to be done?" she asked timidly, clutching the envelope.

"Insurance and medical bills?" the nurse inquired.

"Yes, and I was told I need to personally purchase his medicine at the pharmacy. I'm not sure where that is," she admitted, feeling a bit embarrassed about her lack of knowledge despite spending half her life in the hospital. This only deepened her gratitude towards Drake for handling these matters through the years.
