Luke making his way out of the Capital City, saw two Watch Guards or Gatekeepers standing at each end of the gate. Players were flocking around those guards like when the birds flock and hover around a man who is standing with grains in his hand to feed them. The grains here were the basic hunting quests that were being provided to players whose rewards are a little experience for Class leveling up and a few bronze coins.
Luke thought "If I am not wrong these two guards provide around 50 to 60 experience points and 8 to 10 bronze coins in exchange for 30 slime cores or 20 horned rabbit meat. Whichever you hunt and provide the materials to the guards, which was the condition for clearing the quest and these kinds of hunting quests are repetitive. Well, this kind of beginner material quests are there in each and every RPG game you have played in your life, even though the rewards are not that good for someone who is playing the game for the first time and in VR where everything feels real, completing such a quest provides a different kind of satisfying feeling. Back then, I was also grinding these kinds of hunting quests for about 3 to 4 days for leveling up to Level 10.".
Luke turned his head away from the group and moved forward to his hunting area while muttering "But this time my aim is to reach the top which cannot be achieved by such easy and basic means as slimes and horned rabbits".
Luke looked at his map and kept walking, after taking a few turns he arrived at a small clearing in the forest. The location formerly used to be a part of the usual forest, but it got corrupted, generating a clearing, the trees around withered, and the terrain was desolate, with not a single shred of wild grass or weeds. Skeletons with withered-away armor on their bodies roamed or stood stationary in the corrupted area.
"This kind of clearing occurs in the forest when someone casts magic against the energy of life, such as Undead creation or some other kind of Black Magic in the forest," Luke mumbled. "This job should be done by an Apprentice Black Magician since the work of Advanced grade Black Magicians or Necromancers does not stop in such a small area; even their smallest work consumes a quarter or even half of a forest. Because the adventurers have previously fought a fight here, the Guild provides this type of information. They have either caught or killed the black magician, however, throughout the battle, they strive to avoid killing the skeletons generated by an Apprentice Black Magician as much as possible, instead going directly for the magician under the Guild's instruction. While leaving the skeletons for beginner adventures to hunt in order for the newbies to gain some basic experience on "How to fight an undead monster."
"No point in playing stealthy in front of these undead bastards because they do not have any of the five senses of human beings but a special kind of sensing Trait unique only to Undead Races called Life Sense which detects any kind of life nearby," said Luke, brandishing his mace in one hand and charging straight into the clearing.
When the undead sensed a moving form of Life, it whirled around and surged forward, following the fundamental instincts of the undead species, to eliminate the moving form of Life that was coming directly at him.
When the undead was within 15 meters from him, "Inspect" called Luke.
The details soon appeared over the running skeleton.

"Yep, even these moving skeletons are higher leveled than me and can kill me in 2 to 3 hits, if they can hit me, that is," Luke remarked, ducking to the side from an incoming swipe of a broken sword. Using all of his strength, he swung his mace downward, directly hitting the skull, cracks began to form on that shiny white skull, and with the second hit, the skeleton soldier's skull fully cracked, and his body fell to the ground, which vanished in a white light, leaving nothing on the ground.

Luke was swinging his mace up and down as if clearing the weapon after a bloody battle he hadn't even fought. Looking at the mace, he said, "This is why I chose blunt weapons over sharp weapons when fighting with undead because a sword or dagger cannot slice through those hard bones without a high-quality material." Swords and daggers can easily get stuck in any region of the body except the skull, such as between the ribs or other joints. Low-grade weapons will shatter after piercing the skull two to three times, and even piercing the skull will take the strength of around 10 to 15 points, which is only attainable in early levels for Swordsman or Monk Class with their Class bonuses."
When the undead disintegrated into white light, Luke thought he heard something, but before he could process the tiny whisper that vanished, he spotted a group of four or five undead charging at him.
After drawing out the Lyre, Luke put his mace back in the inventory and said, "This is the second reason I chose undead for the start over any other kind of beast or monster because Life and Death are opposite forms of energies and cannot coexist with each other, Life and Death is nothing but a cycle rather than existing together". Thus, a low-level undead being newly created has a very poor Life Sense and cannot pinpoint a specific single form of life when standing in a forest where life energy is abundant, whereas their higher evolved forms can not only pinpoint but also manage to regain their memories before death and original human senses. These low-level undead are unable to enter the forest because of the death energy they hold, although in less quantities. Due to their innate making, they only have the power to stand or move around in the corrupted area.
Outside the region, in the forest, they are unable to move and are left lying around like disintegrating corpses without a burial, comparable to skeleton models used in biology labs. The difference is that soon some hound or other type of carnivorous monster will come and chew on the bones of hands and legs, enjoying their meal without realizing they are eating poison because death energy sweeping into the bones is difficult to detect due to the small quantity. Death energy, regardless of its quality or amount, continues to harm all living beings.
