Chapter Twenty-five

Ethan watched with cold eyes as two of his warriors dragged Liam's lifeless body unceremoniously across the muddy ground. He had ordered them to return the body to the Silver Moon pack, a gesture of both respect and warning. He wanted to send them a message of his fearlessness. He had slain their son and future Alpha, and he was ready for their retaliation.

He glanced at Liam's pale and lifeless face, and he tried to convince himself that he had done the right thing, that Liam had earned his doom. He tried to rationalize his actions, that Liam had trespassed his borders and threatened his pack. He tried to comfort himself that he had acted as an alpha must, protecting his land and his people.

Ethan told himself that he had no regrets.
