I’m.. such an idiot.

Ah… The final moments of the demon lord finally arrives… Everything feels so loud… My body aches… The pain feels so unbearable… Yet, I stand… Because, in the end… It's just me and you, Rose.

"You going to give up and accept my offer?" I ask her for one last time… hoping she'll finally comply. But, in the end… It's all silence…

10 Years Before The Present

"Rose, I'm going to head out now." I lean my head out the window, taking in the fresh air of this amazing new world of Deaon the god of time has brought me into.

It's been only 6 days since my consciousness was given to a dying boy named, Rio. I've taken it upon myself to take on Rio's name, and live his life out for him.

"I still have a lot of guild work left and don't you think it's insane to go into a dungeon at night? You do remember dungeon monsters get ten times stronger when night falls. I'm worried that you and your friends won't be able to make it back this time." Rose looked at her younger brother, he was only 13. Yet, he went on so many dangerous missions

"Yeah but the rewards you get for killing monsters at night are nearly tripled. Which means I'll easily be able to buy us dinner tonight. And on the bright side, it's only goblins." Rio gave Rose a thumbs up

"I'll be right back, I won't die. Because, I still have to protect you." Although, the man inside Rio's body didn't hold a care for Rose. The boy's innate body sense immediately protects his elder sister whenever there is danger. It's almost as if Rio's body was programmed to do so.

Rio leaves the house, waving goodbye to his sister and meeting up with his hunting party.

"Alex, since you're our archer you'll need to stay in the trees on the right of the goblins nest.

Hannah, as you know you're the party's support so you'll stay behind and buff Mala.

Mala, since you have the brawns in our group. you'll wait for my signal to attack the goblin nest from the rear.

I will use my assassin class skill to make my presence unknown and swiftly take out the boss. Everyone understand?" Rio looks at his fellow peers with a smile, bragging in his mind about how great of a scheme he made.

Alex looks at Rio exhaustedly"I mean, I could've done better but sure" Alex who was tired of Rio's flaunting made a snarky comment

"I'm fine with supporting Mala, but what about you guys? Shouldn't I atleast buff Alex with enhanced vision so he could use his bow better? Or maybe I could buff you with extra speed since you're going off to face the boss?" Hannah seems kind of scared, she saw all of the flaws in Rio's plan, yet she went along with it

"It'll be fine, Hannah. We'll just run out of the exit if it gets rough. We won't be easily taken out by goblins right?

"I'm fine with it! " Mala pridefully yells out. She wasn't the smartest. But, in their village, in a one on one situation, always bet on Mala. She was known as one of the strongest guild members in their small town.

"Alright, team. Let's head in." Rio grabs the group's items and walks into the dungeon….

A Few Years later in a run-down bar

"I wish I never did that. I should've listened to Rose. I got cocky, I was a dumb kid. How could I have let them all… go." Everything was so quiet, you could hear a pen drop. Rio drank his sorrows away, bottle after bottle. The place he stood in was a barren wasteland, a desert-like place.
