He Must be a God

After dinner I head back to the tend and begin grinding some ink

-Are you gonna write to your family?- comes Qin Luo placing an hand on my shoulder

-Mhn, but first of all I should write down a few ideas for the training...-

-Need any help?- he asks seating at the other end of the small table

-It's fine, don't burden yourself with more work than needed-

-I don't mind if it means helping you- he smiles pouring wine for the both of us

-Well then... Actually I was thinking if... Is it possible to train elsewhere?- I ask taking the cup

-Mhm... I think you should ask the Head General, but I doubt so... We tend to stay all close to the camp, in case of an attack from the Enemy-

-I see... Nevermind then-

-Why do you want to go away tho?-

-I just thought it might be beneficial for some parts of the training... I remember my Master telling me that depending on where you train, you might get a different outcome.. You need a place with less distractions and lot of energies flowing at the beginning-

-You mean about the Qi and those other things?-

-Yeah... I don't really know how to say it, but there's a nice spot to train a bit South from the camp-

-Like... You felt that or something?- he asks skeptical

-Something like that, yeah... It was overflowing with good energy-

-Ah... How I wish to have such powers too- he sighs

-Have you ever tried cultivation?- I ask placing down the empty cup

-Yes... We did train a bit, back in the days with your brother...

But our superiors didn't fimd anyone with potential so we gave up...

It's not everyday you find someone like you, you know?- He smirks leaning back on the chair -More like... Not every generation or even century haha-

-I suppose so... According to my Master, the last record he found about someone able to control elements was around...

Mhn...- I begin making a quick count with my fingers -160 years ago-

-Woah! That's a lot of time... Who was that? Some famous warrior? I don't recall something like that in my years of studying-

-I don't know... He's not even sure if it was actually the same case as me...

A man seemed to be teaching their son on this path, they were by a pure lake high in the untouched mountains and the son had...- something clicks -Water... Coloured... Hair!- As I am finishing the sentence my mind seems to get cleared from a fog I didn't knew was there in the first place

-Uh? You like weird coloured hair...?- asks Qin Luo confused at my rising tone

-No it's not that, I just understood something important!- I stand up and take a heavy cloak and a rope

-I have to go now-

-Wait... What about your planning?!-

-I'll do that once I'm back!- I yell running outside the tend

I get back to where I met him the last time...

-How stupid of me... I should have known sooner!- I hit my head with an hand

-Yo! Water haired dude?!-

But it is just me making sounds here

-I know you are there! You have been following me for a while so you must be nearby!-

I wait a bit more

-Not showing uh? Don't worry I'll find a way to make you come out- I head to the river taking out a rope I prepared.

I tie one end to a rock and one to my wrists, pressed together

-You saved me last time, I suppose you don't want me to die then- I murmur finishing the knot with my teeth, before throwing myself in the water along with the heavy rock rolling down...

-Whoa...!- I gasp at the strength with whom I'm pulled in the water before falling in.

Lower and lower as the water turns dark... It's extremely cold down here and makes my head spin.

On the surface everything is silent and peaceful...

No sign of him

...

After a bit I begin to feel the lack of oxygen and as a reflex my body starts swimming upward with no results, due to the weight anchoring me down

"He won let me die here... He won't..."

My eyes gets heavy and the lungs begin burning.

"Just a bit more... I can make it"

Wether for the cold numbing my body or the lack of oxygen I feel extremely sleepy... I'm probably about to pass out...

A few bubbles of air escape my mouth as I am fighting to keep it close against my lack of strength

"Just... A bit... More...!"

A sparkle of light gets my attention and warmth encircle me...

"Is... He?"

The sparkle gets clearer and I see those silvery hair, looking like water in a storm, all around the fair skin creating a cloud... Reflecting the moonlight, broken in hundreds of pieces by the water...

"He really came..." A smile approaches my lips as I close my eyes... Almost giving in

The next thing I feel are hia arms around me... I really cannot hold on anymore...

But I must not pass out now!

He looks angry as his face draws closer until his mouth covers mine, pushing air inside.

The eyes...

Those beautiful eyes...

If I forget all the rest around him I could really think it's Linghe, back from his journey.

After the rope is undone I get dragged out of the water and laid on the beach coughing water out, he steps away to leave

-Wait... I... You...- I try to stand up again and close my eyes as everything seems to be spinning -You are that kid, aren't you?-

He turns to catch me and pushes me back down seated on the cold sand

-Answer me-

He nods so I finally relax

-Why don't you want to talk?-

He shake his head

-Please- I reach an hand to take his own and he gasps at the sudden contact

-Why did you had to suicide?-

And I hear again that beautiful melody... I taste that beautiful sensation, closing my eyes just a few seconds

-I just wanted to talk with you... I needed to ask you that-

-But why going to such extend?-

-I didn't knew how else to call you-

He clenches his teeth -It's my fault... Don't do such a thing anymore- He helps me stand up and holds my arm as I'm still not fully stable

-I... Have many questions...-

-Don't ask them, it's better-

-But...!-

He close his eyes tilting his head slowly with a risen eyebrow

-Mhn... Fine, about the water... Was it you warming it all this time?-

He nods

-Thanks-

-If I cannot make any questions... Is there something I should know that you want to tell me?-

-The less you know, the better it is... Just keep doing what you are doing-

-You mean fighting for my Nation or saving minor Deities?-

He widen his eyes at my question

-He told you...?-

-Yes, but I would have found out eventually-

He sighs

-You are a God too?-

-No... I... Don't know what I am- he looks sad, the sentence is way more heavy than how it looks...

I cannot help but reach out to caress his cheek leaving him speechless... He stares at me like a lost deer, he close his eyes and take a deep breath to regain control.

Once he opens his lids again, a sharp and deep stare meets me along his hand covering over mine -I can't help you, I'm sorry. Just... Help those prisoners and end this war, I'm counting on you- His words are serious and his tone deep

-I'll do whatever it takes to-

He nods and turns to leave

-XianLen...! How is he?- he stops walking and sighs

-He's fine... I'll make sure he keeps being so, don't worry-

-Thanks...-

-Mhn- and he's gone leaving me there, half wet half dry in the deep night.

-He must be a God...-
