Chapter 29

Few years later

"You're health is deteriorating," said Sandaime.

I shrugged, "I'm fine, really."

"Don't lie to me," he said, "I'm genuinely worried about you."

"Cause I'm your ultimate weapon?" I asked sarcastically.

"Well…" Sandaime scratched his head, "Yes. But you're also a village Jounin, and… I care about you. Plus, you're one of the only people who can actually get Naruto to be motivated about learning and… stuff. So tell me, are you really okay?"

I shrugged again, "Just occasional dizziness, headache, difficulty breathing, chest pain, and coughing… Oh, and all these occasions where separate, not all together."

"You don't sound okay…" said Raido from the door.

"Eavesdropping?" asked Sandaime.

Raido nodded, "Sorry Sandaime… Genma asked me to."

I snorted, "You just threw him under the bus…"

"Huh?" asked Sandaime, "Bus?"

I shook my head, "Nevermind, I'll like a long healthy life."

"Speaking of Genma…" said Sandaime, "When are you two getting married?"

I spit out my tea and started coughing, "What? We're not- we're not even…"

"You are old enough," said Sandaime.

Raido nodded, "I'll be best man!"

I glared at him and he shrunk under my gaze. "I'm like… a kid…" I tried to say.

Sandaime laughed, "Rin, you're twenty-something."

I was? Oops… "Oh…" I said, "Well, still no. Is there anything else you want to add?"

Sandaime stopped laughing, "I'm taking you off missions."

"What?" I frowned, "Why?"

He nodded at me, "First off, you're not healthy. Don't deny it. Second, did you know Naruto is graduating this year?"

I frowned, "But… Oh, already? Did he pass?"

He shrugged, "The test is tomorrow. But that's not the point, I want you to be a Jounin Instructor."

"Oh…" I said, "For Naruto?"

He nodded. "I'll let you pick your students."

I grinned, "Can you let me make… all the teams?" Maybe he could let me put Ino with Kiba. (She would hate it.) Or maybe…

"No." he said, "Just your team. And, the Ino-Shika-Cho is off limits."

"Alright," I answered, "Who are the other instructors?"

"Kurenai, Asuma, You," He started going off a list, "I was going to have Kakashi do it to, but since you agreed to train Naruto and whoever is on his team…"

"I can co-teach with Kakashi," I said. Kakashi was instrumental to Sasuke's growth. Sasuke would learn Chidori from him.

Sandaime pondered, "Alright. Don't do stupid stuff and don't teach your kids to be late or break the rules."

"Kids?"

I sat on the floor of my room, meditating. Also, sensing. I wasn't a bad sensor, but that didn't make me a good one either. Mostly, I was just good at sensing my own Flying Thunder God imprints and sometimes the ones Minato-sensei left behind.

My head snapped up. I could sense Naruto's chakra at the Hokage tower. I frowned, he passed this time so how come he was still there? The plot sucks. I teleported above the tower, staying hidden. A few minutes later, the blonde ran to the small forest. I followed behind. He began reading. "I already know this," he muttered, looking at the Shadow Clone Jutsu.

I snorted, "Seriously Naru, I thought you were smarter than this."

"Huh?" he asked, "You mean when Mizuki-sensei told me to steal the scroll so that I could become Chunin immediately I shouldn't have believed him?"

I shrugged, "Probably. Pass me scroll?"

He shrugged and rolled it up. "I'm literally not learning anything from this."

"That's 'cause," I said, "I'm too good of a teacher."

He prepared to throw it at me, but before he could, Mizuki appeared. "Come on boy," he said to Naruto, "Give me the scroll."

Naruto looked at him, then at me. "Give me the scroll!" barked Mizuki.

I sighed, "Seriously?"

Mizuki glared at me, "She doesn't care about you. She just wants the scroll. Naruto, I care about you. You are a student. You deserve to become Chunin immediately."

"I do care," I defended.

"Oh do you?" challenged Mizuki, he turned to Naruto, "She's lying. She hates you. The entire village hates you! Do you know why? Because you are a monster. Wonder why you have whiskers? Because, inside of you, you hold the Kyuubi. It killed so many villagers. She hates you too because you killed her family. Her entire clan and her sensei."

Naruto stared at him, looking from me to him. He seemed hesitant. Then, he threw the scroll at me. "Sorry Mizuki-sensei, I already knew that. But, I'm not a monster. I just carry the monster with me… permanently?"

I sniggered at his attempt to sound cool. "Big Sis, don't laugh," he complained.

"I'M NOT A JOKE!" Mizuki ran at Naruto, large shuriken in hand.

"Naruto?" I asked.

He grinned, "Kage Bushin no Jutsu!" a bunch of Naruto appeared and started beating up Mizuki.

…

"Got it~" I sang, dropping the scroll on Sandaime's desk. He jumped.

"That was… fast."

I grinned, "I can move as fast as light and sound. I think I'm pretty fast. Mizuki is outside, getting beat up by Naruto. You should probably send him to the correctional facility… Mizuki, not Naruto."

He nodded, "Thanks. So… want to pick your team?"

My eyes lit up. "Sure! For my team, I want Naruto, obviously. Then… Sasuke."

"Oh? Why?"

"Because he and Naruto motivate each other to better. Sasuke is better at some things while Naruto is better at others. They can help each other grow. Plus, he's the last Uchiha left. Kakashi could probably teach him a thing or two."

"And the third one?"

I nodded, "What about… Haruno, Sakura."

"Really?" asked Sandaime, "Why her?"

"Well," I said, "I kind of want to cause some drama. You know me. Sakura likes Sasuke and both Naruto and Sasuke kind of hate her. Love the team bonding!"

Sandaime stared at me. "She's pretty strong, could be as good as Tsunade…" I added.

"Not as good as you?"

"Do you plan on making her a Jinchuuriki too?" I asked.

He shook his head, "I guess not."
