Maybe Obito wouldn't go down the darkside and maybe Naruto could keep his dad. On the other hand... she could live a normal life, be a normal shinobi, get married, have kids, then die a normal death of natural cause. But if she's a jinchuurkiki... how's she going to do that? *sigh...* life is so hard...

Naruto: Resilience

"Please reconsider!" shouted Iruka. He was almost begging us to.

Sandaime sighed. "They're too young! They're inexperienced. What if something bad happens?" Iruka kept arguing.

All Konoha 11 teams were officially recommended for the Chunin exams. Except… Iruka didn't want them to. "Oh come on," I said, "Iruka, you need to chill out. You aren't their academy teacher anymore. These months, all of us jounin instructors, have been carefully training and watching our genin to make sure they are ready. If we say they are ready, they probably are."

Iruka glared at me. "They were my students though. And, I know their level."

I shook my head, "Not anymore. You knew their level when they were your students. Now, they are ours. Please respect our decision."

Sandaime nodded, "She's right, Iruka. If their instructor says they are ready, then we must believe they are ready."

Iruka nodded, "I understand but… please let me test them!" he bowed his head.

Sandaime nodded. "Very well, if the instructors agree, you may test them."

"Alright," answered Asuma and Kurenai at the same time. They both blushed.

"YOSH!" shouted Guy, "Let this be a test of their YOUTHFULNESS!"

"Sensei, you're late again!" muttered Sakura.

"Sorry," I grinned, "I was busy…"

"No you weren't," accused Sakura, "You did it on purpose!"

"Let me finish!" I whined. "I was busy…" I pulled out the chunin exam forms, "Getting you these!"

"A piece of paper?" Naruto cocked his head like an idiot.

"Baka," said Sasuke, "Those are recommendations for the Chunin exams. It's where we can be promoted."

I nodded. "If you want to, I will allow you to take it." I handed them the forms then looked at Sakura. "If you feel like you aren't ready, you don't have to do it."

Naruto shook his head and shouted, "No! We'll do it. This is just one small step for me to become HOKAGE!!!!!!!!!!"

Sasuke slapped him on the back of the head, "Stupid, she was talking to Sakura."

"Oh…" he looked at the pink-head, "You'll do it right, Sakura? With us?"

She looked at the form hesitantly, then at Naruto and Sasuke, "I… " she nodded confidently, "I'll do it. I'm ready."

"So?" I asked, "How did they do?"

Iruka smiled and looked at Konoha. "They all passed. They've grown so much. I guess it's time for me to accept that they are your students."

I nodded, "Don't worry. I'll take care of them." I looked up at the dark night sky. I'll protect them… Minato-sensei… I'll protect Naruto for you. I will protect your village.
