Chapter 42

"Rin~ Anko~" Orochimaru grinned, "How nice of you to drop by!" he didn' spare Kakashi a single glance.

"Enough!" said Anko, "What are you doing here? I won't let you hurt the students!"

"You are a bit too late," said Orochimaru, grinning, but did it seem the slightest bit hesitant? I couldn't tell. "Just a few seconds too late," he grinned.

I turned to look at Sasuke and froze. He was shaking in pain and clutching the side of his neck. Oh no. "You!" shouted Anko, leaping at Orochimaru who grinned wickedly.

"Anko!" Kakashi sighed and followed her, backing her up.

I jumped back and landed on the branch where Sasuke was kneeling. "Let me see," I said gently, brushing his hand away.

He grimaced in pain and moved his hand away. He was sweating and his face was pale. I frowned, staring at his neck. Rather than the two fang holes, there was one. It didn't seem deep enough, especially since Orochimaru claimed to have pit him. It was more like a scratch that extended from the hole and forward, towards his chin. When we pushed Orochimaru away, he must not have been fully bitting on Sasuke…

What was weirder was that rather than three tomoe like in canon, there was only one. I frowned. "Ack!" Kakashi flew past us and slammed into the tree behind him.

I sighed. The questions would have to wait. "Don't move," I warned Sasuke, pulling out a tag i had prepared. It would work to seal the power of cursed seal… for now. "Evil Sealing Method!" I poured my chakra into it and watched as the ink appeared on Sasuke's skin around the cursed seal. It faded and his body shook in pain before he collapsed. Sakura caught him and I nodded to her. "Take care of him."

She nodded and I ran to Naruto. I pulled the kunai out and laid him flat on a tree branch. "It really is like a tattoo," I muttered, pulling up Narutos shirt to reveal the seal. "Five Elements Unseal…"

Orochimarus meddling disappeared and I picked Naruto up. Anko and Kakashi were holding up but it was time to get him out of Konoha. I tossed Naruto at Sakura who caught him. "Get then out of here!" I called.

She nodded and heaved the two unconscious boys onto her shoulders. Then she turn and ran. She was getting stronger. Despite being afraid and her lack of experience, she was much better than the Sakura in canon during this time period.

"Hidden Shadow Snake Hands!" I jumped as the snakes shot passed me.

"Stupid snakes…" I lept towards, trying to teleport him out Konoha.

He dodged, "Not today," he siad, "I know all your tricks."

Anko threw her senbon at him but he dodged and his tongue(s) slammed into the floor beneath her as she jumped. One wrapped around her hand and the other wrapped around her waist. I jumped, infusing my scalpel with chakra, and cut threw the tongues.

"Hidden Shadow Snake Hands!" five green snakes slid out from her sleeve towards Orochimaru. They grabbed him by the side. Anko yanked back and he flew into a tree.

She pinned him to the tree and grabbed his hand. "Dual-" Kakashi threw a shuriken that hit Orochimaru in the head.

It turned to mud. "Thats a clone," said Kakashi, his eye red from Sharingan.

"Very good," laughed Orochimaru, "Minato would be proud."

"Shut up," I growled, "You have no right."

"I have every right," he grinned and made a hand sign.

"Damn-" I winced as my neck started throbbing. The pain was worsening by the second and Anko was already on the floor.

Orochimaru stepped towards her, "You better not cancel this exam. I'm excited to see what will happen next."

Anko groaned in pain. "What did you do!" shouted Kakashi. "Chidori!" he ran towards Orochimaru who jumped backwards.

With the last of my strength, I appeared behind him and kicked as hard as I could, sending him towards Kakashi. I winced and fell down hard. I leaned against a tree truck as the burning sensation worsed. Should've brought more seals… sigh…

I heard Orochimaru scream and I looked down to see that Kakashi's Chidori had pierced his right shoulder. He kicked Kakashi, sending him back with a grunt. Then, in a cloud of purple, disappeared.
