Zamir of the Black Lotus

(Some Years Ago)

His eyes shooting open, Zamir listened again for the sound that had woken him up and sure enough it came again. It was his mother screaming. He sat up abruptly, pushing the covers away from him. Just as he was about to stand up on his feet, the bedroom door burst open and his mother came rushing in toward him, tears and fear in her eyes. "We have to go Zamir! We are under attack" She grabbed his hand and dragged him along with her out of the room without even giving him a chance to put on his shoes.

Zamir followed obediently as his mother kept dragging him. As they came out to the living room, they saw the whole place up in fllames, the fire quickly spreading. "Come on let's go out the back door" She said, changing directions. "No!" She shouted when she saw two men coming after them. She increased her speed, with the now scared Zamir tagging along.

He hadn't seen his mother that scared. And why did it have to be when his father left with the other wolves and wasn't around to protect them. "What's happening mom? Who are they?" He asked fearfully.

"Don't worry sweetheart, just run, we'll be okay. I won't let anything happen to you" She replied, almost shouting.

Getting to the kitchen, her arm knocked down an highly flammable canister but that didn't stop her. She kept on running, hearing the footsteps of the angry wolves behind her and quickly catching up. She was no match for their speed. Getting to the back door and just about to run out, one of the Betas caught up to them and grabbed her hair, pulling her back to a stop. "No!" She cried out.

"Mom!" Zamir called worriedly but to his surprise, his mother pulled him back, grabbed him and threw him out the door. Zamir landed on the floor outside the house and immediately turned to see his mother struggling with the Beta. She was now on the floor, holding his leg and preventing him from coming after her son. "Mom!" Zamir shouted, tears forming in his eyes.

"Run! Don't stop running!" She shouted.

The second Beta appeared and was about to run out the house after him but his mother grabbed and held his leg also. She held both their legs with all her strength, stopping them from moving. The fire had spread to the kitchen and was almost at the fallen canister. Seeing this, they began hitting her, using their claws to slash her face and hands but she wasn't letting go even as she was now injured all over and bleeding. She kept crying, bearing the pain and holding them still, finding the strength in the fact that she was protecting her son.

Zamir stood up swiftly and was about to run back into the house. He saw his mother shake her head, stopping him. A warm smile formed on her face whilst still staring at him just before the canister exploded, engulfing the house. The wave sent Zamir flying back, landing him on the floor. He coughed and quickly looked up. He couldn't see his mother anymore, all he saw was flames, the whole house up in flames. "No" He cried, tears falling freely from his eyes.

He heard a loud bang from his left hand side and that's when he realized they weren't the only ones that were being attacked, the whole pack was. Almost every house was up in flames and his people were running around in fear as they were being dropped one after the other. He quickly stood up and ran toward the woods, running as fast as he could to avoid the danger behind. All he kept hearing was his mother's voice "Run! Don't stop running!" He kept running without looking back as the words kept urging him on whilst he was crying in process.

(Present Time)

Zamir supported himself with his hand against a tree, trying to catch his breath. Using his cloning ability always left him weak for sometime before being back at full strength. He knew he needed to meet up with the others. He looked up and the full moon was out. Using his ability to fight Derek and Cassie had caused him to fall behind on time. He stood by the tree, resting for a while. When he could feel his strength coming back faster than usual because of the full moon, he continued on his journey.

He hadn't moved far from where he rested when he heard footsteps fast approaching from behind. He turned swiftly just for a stake to pierce through his left shoulder, he groaned in pain, falling down to his knees. He looked up and saw Damien standing there, another stake in hand and his eyes still glowing red. There and then Zamir knew his time was up. He wasn't at full strength to face him and even if he was, he knew he couldn't take him. Himself and Conan fought him together and still lost.

He stood up to his feet and pulled the stake out. 'I'm not going to go down without a fight like some weak coward" He thought to himself, gripping the stake tighter while still bleeding from his shoulder. "I'm not gonna go down a coward and a weakling" He said to Damien

Damien said nothing but kept staring at him, blood stains all over his face and clothes. He stood still as Zamir dashed toward him, holding the stake out. As soon as he got to where he was, Damien easily dodged his attack and grabbed his arm in the process. Zamirs speed had become slower making it easy to dodge his attacks. Damien punched his elbow joint forcefully and Zamir growled in pain. You could hear the sound of the bone breaking.

Unable to hold the stake up with his broken arm, Damien took the stake from him easily and swiftly plunged it into his rib. Without giving him time to adapt to the pain, Damien swiftly bent down and cleared him off the floor sending him to the air and before he could land, he plunged the other stake into his heart mid air and used it to push him against a tree.

He let go and watched him land on the ground, blood coming out from his mouth. Zamir using all his strength left, forced himself up, sitting on the ground with his back against the tree. He looked up at Damien who had a blank expression and was staring down at him. "You....you're a....menace....one of t....he...stro...ngest I have ever fo...ught" He stuttered calmy amidst heavy breaths.

Damien blinked and immediately marched the stake, pushing it deeper into his heart. Zamir groaned and grunted more, holding the stake. Without wasting any more time, Damien raced toward the direction he was initially heading to, disappearing into the night and leaving his opponent to his fate.

Zamir coughed out more blood as he could feel life slowly leaving his body. He looked up at the moon, breathing heavily. For some reason, staring at the moon he felt some sense of peace. He didn't feel afraid of death but was willing to welcome it. He looked in front of him and saw his mother smiling and walking up to him in a form of a spirit. He knew he was hallucinating but he was happy all the same. "Rest now my child" She said still smiling, getting to where he was and sitting beside him, hugging him from the side.

"Rest now. It's all over" He heard her whisper in his ear. Zamir closed his eyes, his hand slipping from the stake in his heart as he breathed his last breath, his life fading into the darkness of the night and his lifeless body sitting there against the tree.
