Of Difficult Questions

[AGUST]

Staring at his Erasthai, Agust could feel his heart constricting, again. He had been experiencing this the whole day and now that he could see Park up close, he couldn't help but wish there was more he could do for him.

Earlier he had gone to Kiyoto and murdered the Alpha's father. He was sure it was just a matter of time before the alpha knew what he had done, but then Agust wasn't going to regret it. He did it with pride and if he had to do it again, he would.

Maybe he was crazy, but it wasn't new. He had always been like this, even though this time, he had a reason to lash out at people. He hated seeing his Erasthai helpless and hurt. It drove him nuts and he couldn't take it.

"He won't hurt you anymore," he whispered to his Erasthai on his bed, the very bed he had kicked him out the previous night. Perhaps it was the only way to make sure that his Erasthai wasn't having any nightmares.

"No one will," Agust added when he felt the alpha squirm in his arms, even though he was already sleeping.

Earlier, when he had given Berto an ultimatum, King Agust had taken away all of Berto's Lycan abilities and left him just a mere mortal with no abilities. Having Berto go to Kiyoto to own a crime that he had committed himself was insane.

He knew no one would believe that Berto had killed the Kiyoto Alpha but Agust didn't care about it. He had already done what he needed to and if he had to do it again, he would without a second thought. He would go to the very pits of hell for his little mate.

"You—" a velvety voice interrupted the King's thoughts, snapping him back to the beautiful man in his arms. Oh, how he loved this man so much it was screwing with his mind. But then he wasn't going to complain because he couldn't have it any other way.

If anything, the Alpha had accepted him, which meant that the universe would have no option but to respect the bond between two mates who accepted each other soon enough the customs would require the both of them to marry, but would Agust agree to it?

"My beautiful Jiminie," Agust whispered like he was scared the pretty alpha would disappear from his sight. He couldn't stand it, which could explain how fast he had been to show up for him when Berto had tried to molest the Alpha.

However, there was a chance that the Lycan King had been close and had been watching his Lycan try to mess with his Erasthai. The fact that he had done nothing until the very last moment should have been sickening, but Agust didn't care.

"Wh… he tried to… I called for you and you didn't come," Alpha Park whimpered as he tried to get a grasp of his reality. He was already blaming himself for always ending up in the King's bed, but he needed answers about last night.

He wasn't sure what happened but the fact that the Lycan had tried to assault him, wasn't going to fade away. He had called for the King and he hadn't come, yet here they were on the same bed, like nothing happened.

Perhaps Alpha Park was screwed, right?

"Hey, hey, you're okay. No one is ever going to touch you," Agust soothed as he pulled the Alpha closer to him, sniggling like that was supposed to make Alpha Park forget what had happened the previous night. This King was something else.

"… Especially now that you accepted the mate bond, my beautiful," the King said and that got Alpha Park sitting up.

"I did what?"

"Oh please. You accepted me last night. Well, you rejected me as usual, but you later changed your mind. I am so looking forward to our new engagement, my Jiminie," the King said with pride as he got off the bed.

He could feel the Alpha's confusion and anger and he knew it would take some time for everything to sink in, but he wouldn't be waiting for that. He had accomplished what he wanted and frankly, he didn't see a reason to stay beside the Alpha.

"You're leaving?" Alpha Park asked, and the king just chuckled darkly at him. It was new and for a moment, Alpha Park thought that he was losing his mind, surely this couldn't be, right? Maye he was overthinking every little thing because of the King.

"I have a kingdom to run, and more wolves to kill," King Agust said casually like he wasn't speaking about his Erasthai's race like that. What the hell was even going on with him, or was he always like this?

"Yesterday… you came back smelling like dead wolves—" Alpha Park said as he trailed off while looking at the King who was staring at the Alpha as if to ask him if that was a question. Maybe he needed to hear it from the alpha right?

"Fuck," Jiminie groaned and Agust almost rushed back to see what the hell was wrong with his Erasthai. Of course, he was already blaming it on the mate bond for getting him so whipped for a mere wolf, but it wasn't like there was much he could do about it.

"Is that supposed to be a question?" the Lycan King asked as Alpha Park struggled to get up from the bed. He wasn't sure where he was going, but right after Agust seemed like a good place to start, besides, the palace was already starting to reek of dead bodies.

"Which wolves did you attack?" the Alpha asked meekly, like he was scared of the answer. Being in the Lycan kingdom meant that he couldn't communicate with his people through the mind links and that made him a useless Alpha.

He had no clue what was going on out there and yesterday, he had the chance to leave, to go back to his people, to lead them and defend them from the dreadful Lycan King himself, yet here he was, struggling to get up from the same man's bed.

There were so many things that the Alpha could have done last night, but maybe staying at Agust's gates was the only sane choice he could make. But would that explain why the hell the King had come home smelling like wolves?

"Are you really sure you want the answer to that, my beautiful?" the King asked, shutting the door, like he changed his mind about leaving again. He would do that later but for now, he needed to see for himself what his Erasthai was expecting of him.

"Who, Xiao Zhu?"

"That's insulting, love. You know my name's 'Ming Xiao Zhu,' not 'Who Xiao Zhu,'" the King said, ignoring the Alpha's question. He loved the frown on the pretty man's face and he could see the little hands folding into fists like they were to punch the King.

Agust wouldn't object though. Even he knew that he deserved a little ass-kicking but until then he would wait it out.

"Why do you always have your ass in your mouth all the time? Goddess, you're so infuriating! Who the fuck did you murder yesterday?" Alpha Park demanded, even though a part of him knew that the chances at an answer were diminishing with every second.

There was only so much he could hope for, from the man who had kidnapped him, especially since this was just the fifth day of his kidnap. He had to do something, and he needed to prepare for when he left the palace and went back home. But would he ever get to leave?

"Last I checked, it was your pretty little cunt on my mouth, but let's pretend like you didn't cum more than thrice from just my tongue, yeah?" the King casually said and Alpha Park was so done with him. There was no hope here and with this man.

"You killed wolves, Agust, you murdered my kind. Is that why you brought me here to leave them all powerless because you knew I would fight for them? You didn't want someone interfering with your great plan of racial cleansing? Is that it?

"Your father must have really been proud of you and who you have become," Alpha Park said, right as a table flew past his ears, making the Alpha shriek.

"Careful sweetheart, killing you might sound like the best idea right now."

"Do it then. What are you waiting for?"
