Far From Home? I’ll Hear You Call… Brother

[CHANG ZHU]

Anger was an understatement of what Ming Chang Zhu was feeling. He couldn't believe that after all the years she had been looking for his brother's weakness, it would fall on his lap like that.

It was almost like Agust hadn't tried hard to protect that which was his and it was a pathetic state for him because Ming Xiao Zhu never loved. His brother was born with a beautiful heart, one that was shattered one too many items by their abusive father.

His little brother was no longer the butterfly that needed his protection, no. he was different. Xiao Zhu had become a monster. A monster worse than their fate. A monster that Chang Zhu had strived hard not to let him be.

Chang Zhu had moved heaven and earth for Agust and yet his brother still managed to leave. Agust was Chang Zhu's greatest fault, but Chang Zhu was determined to fix that. He was determined to remind his brother of what innocence once looked like.

Perhaps that is why he was determined to take out the little wolf that Agust had taken as a mate.

It had been a pathetic rumor the first when it hit Chang Zhu's years but then for the past two years, he had been sniffing around the Lycans – the race his brother had chosen over their own, and the race that he was using to eliminate their fellow wolves.

He hated that his brother had forgotten the purity that came with being a werewolf and that his brother was some dumb hybrid that had managed to fully transition into a Lycan.

It was the worst thing that even Chang Zhu couldn't have thought to expect from Agust, but then what else was she supposed to do? His brother had changed and he would fix him.

"The wolves sent Kim So Hee back. They don't want anything to do with her and that is the first good thing they have done in the past years, boss," Bong Dojin, Chang Zhu's associate said and the dark wolf just smiled at him.

This was what they had been waiting for. For years they had hoped for the impossible for something that Xiao Zhu cared more about than anyone, and for years they had never managed to get it.

It was like Agust never really cared for anyone, which was weird because his brother always had the best of smiles and the kindest of hearts.

"Jung Hyuk is back in Helia with Xiao Zhu. We are set, we just have to wait a few more days to see to it that everything is done the right way. I don't want any of you touching my little brother.

"Xiao Zhu is mine. Tell that to the rest of the men, do you understand?" Chang Zhu asked and Dojin froze for a moment before he started nodding insistently. He was scared of Min Chang Zhu and he had every reason to.

This man was a werewolf, but he was the darkest of them all.

He was bad, the kind that people steered clear of. But then again, was he worse than King Agust in the Helia palace? Was Chang Zhu ever going to be a match for his little brother or this was never about competition for him?

"Yes, boss. I will remind them even if they already know," Dojin said, shakily.

He was never going to get used to being ordered around by Chang Zhu or even the fact that this man scared the living shit out of him. Perhaps it was so right that they stayed on the same page, no?

"Did Jung Hyuk take the essentials he needed for his journey to Helia? Did my little mate have enough?" Chang Zhu asked as he stared at Dojin.

It was a trick question, but then they had to say something or do anything because silence was the one thing that Ming Chang Zhu despised. So, the poor man just died, worried out of his skin that Hee would be next on the great Chang Zhu's slaughter table.

It was scary how they had gotten here, but that didn't even matter anymore. The only thing that altered Chang Zhu was to get his brother back. And if he had to sell out his mate to his brother then that wouldn't be a problem.

After all, Jung Hyuk knew what he was getting into with the King brothers.

"God. You're dismissed," Chang Zhu said and Dojin got up faster than possible.

"Have a good evening, boss," Dojin said before leaving Chang Zhu in his room. He needed to think and this was just the right pace for him. Maybe he was thinking too much about Agust, seeing as no one had ever dared to subdue the Lycan king.

His brother managed to wipe out the entire werewolf race save for the Kiyotos and that spoke a lot about a man who had never loved being emotional. Maybe this was a point of weakness and one that Chang Zhu would explore.

Hell, he knew that already.

However, he was also glad that someone had managed to find a way into Agust's heart after all these years. It had been thousands of years since they had even interacted and since they had buried their father.

Ming Xiao Zhu hadn't had any remorse back then and Chang Zhu knew that he wasn't expecting any remorse in their next meeting, it was an exciting thought and it made Chang Zhu wonder what his brother looked like these days.

He wondered if his brother was still the pretty little feline that never knew what coin was, or if pain had turned him into a monster. Of course, Chang Zhu had always heard the rumors about his brother, but then for him, Agust would forever be his little brother.

The brother he had failed to protect and more than anything, the brother he would bring back home, it didn't matter that for the past thousands of years Agust had been laminating their lineage.

The only thing that mattered was that his brother was alive and well.

That was all for Chang Zhu, and perhaps he needed to reconsider, right?

'You want to see what he looks like, Chang Zhu?' Jung Hyuk had asked years ago when he had first gone into Helia as a transitioned Lycan for the mission. He had gone through so much just to be the king of Lycan that Agust would even spare a glance and it had horrified him.

However, when Jung Hyuk got to Helia, the only person he had seen was a calm king, a man who didn't hurt people and a man who cared only for the clays.

It was strange really, how shit was easy and it had taken a while for Jung Hyuk to realize that all he did was just a charade, one that he would never see through unless he is someone that Agust felt in.

But then that was a problem… because Agust never let people in.

'No… I'll see myself when we shake hands. I want him to know that it was me who came to rescue him from himself,' Chang Zhu had responded and Jung Hyuk heeded his request.

It was crazy, how his men were sure that Chang Zhu wanted to murder the Lycan king, but then he had never once corrected them. Besides, he wouldn't be telling them that he wanted his brother back.

For the realm, Chang Zhu was the monster that Agust needed to look out for. But was that ever going to work when Agust was the worst of all creation? Would empathy ever work on Agust, or did Chang Zhu have another agenda with him?

Oh, but it was hard to tell given they were the Ming brothers, but one thing was certain; nothing was ever the same since Agust had mindlessly murdered their father over and over, bringing the man back to life like it was a game, only to kill him again.

It had taken an entire year of Chang Zhu pleading with Agust to stop before the mad Lycan king ever stopped going after his father. That was the last time they had ever spoken about her father alpha Ming.

It was a time that had broken both their hearts and Chang Zhu had wanted vengeance. But how was he supposed to avenge his father when he had seen for himself what Alpha Ming had done to his little brother?

Alpha Ming had created the master that the realm knew.

And Chang Zhu would fix his brother.

He would bring Ming Xiao Zhu home.
