Freiheit's blue eyes widened in delight.
"I would love that!" He beamed almost too excitedly for Evan's taste.
"Yay!" Eternity clapped her hands just like a child would the moment when someone sang them 'Happy Birthday.'
Their reaction was so in sync that Evan was getting suspicious that they had planned this all along. But he decided not to question them anymore and sighed in defeat and exhaustion. Both their cheerful energies were draining his introverted self out.
Freiheit went back inside the living room and sat on the sofa. He always had this penchant for sitting on Evan's couch, whether from his office or living room. He always felt at home, as long as it was Evan's.
Then again, Freiheit always shared his toys with him when they were younger.
Who was Evan not to allow his brother and best mate to occupy the sofa?
"Evan," Freiheit called. "Have you ordered food already?"
"Not yet, your Majesty," Evan mocked.
"No worries, slave." Freiheit played along, the cheeky bastard that he was. "Please do order now, for I am feeling rather famished."
Evan swore under his breath but fished out his phone anyway. He ordered from this food delivery application that he often used whenever Freiheit visited him, but only when Freiheit came to see him.
"Happy Hornets?" Evan asked.
"Happy Hornets." Freiheit agreed almost instantly.
Eternity frowned. "This 'Happy Hornet' is a food place?"
"You don't know what 'Happy Hornet' is?" Freiheit gasped overdramatically. "It's the best fast-food chain ever!"
"I'm sorry," Eternity said, lowering her head in shame. "I do not ingest food, so I do not know these so-called 'fast-food chains'."
"Ah, right!" Freiheit exclaimed. "You only eat cum. I remember."
Eternity blushed madly, covering her face with her tiny hands. Evan choked at nothing in particular; his ears were turning slightly pink.
Freiheit rolled his eyes at the couple and their childish display of embarrassment.
"You guys are literally adults– Well, I'm not sure about Eternity, but you, Evan, should not act like a flustered teenage girl upon hearing the word–"
"Don't you have any tact?!" Evan shouted. "You are in front of a lady!"
"When did that ever matter to you?!" Freiheit shouted back. "You love making women uncomfortable!"
"I do not!" Evan looked offended. "I'm not as immature as you!"
"Oh, please!" Freiheit rolled his eyes, and it almost seemed like he saw the insides of his skull at how dramatic it was.
"I am of legal age." Eternity interrupted.
"What?" both brothers exclaimed.
Eternity blinked at them, finding it adorable how they spoke in unison.
"You said you weren't sure if I were of legal age," Eternity explained. "I am. All Eternity Dolls are assumed to be 18 years of age and above. My series is specifically for the young adult specification."
"So you, Eternity Women, have a product series?" Evan looked at her in disbelief. "Like a phone?"
Before Eternity could ask what a phone was, Evan handed her his cellular phone.
Freiheit looked at them quizzically but didn't say anything.
After a few seconds, Eternity gave back his phone and nodded.
"Yes, just like a phone."
"That was weird," Freiheit commented.
"Oh, brother," Evan huffed. "She has done many more weird things in 3 days with me."
"Our artisans do not create minors," Eternity continued. "Some Eternity Women have features that seemed underdeveloped per the request of the new owner, but our artisans have the integrity never to create an Eternity Child."
"Ah," Freiheit looked impressed. "So your company doesn't condone pedophilia. That's noble of them for a company that promotes the objectification of women, but okay."
"Why do you look impressed?!" Evan threw his hands in the air in frustration. "You were literally in their home country! Shouldn't they have given you enough background when you got Eternity?"
Freiheit shrugged.
"Don't shrug at me!" Evan groaned. "Don't tell me you were drunk when you bought Eternity as an impulse joke."
"You got that right!" Freiheit chortled. "Man, you know me so well, Evan. It's almost scary."
"You're just predictable," Evan said.
"Probably."
"Anyway," Evan changed the topic, for he was getting so annoyed that he allowed his brother to stay at his apartment. The longer he breathed the same air as Freiheit, the more regretful he became of his decision. "Shall we go rest now, Eternity?"
"Oh, it is already nighttime," Eternity said, taking notice of the clock ticking on the wall. "I just received a hefty amount of energy, so I think it is right to conserve it as much as possible."
"Yes." Evan patted her gently on the head. "You can go inside your room while I prepare the room for Freiheit."
"My room?" Eternity repeated.
"Yes, Eternity. Your room," he said with emphasis.
Eternity pouted but did as she was told. She skipped all the way to her room, maintaining a cute expression. Once she was gone, Evan looked at his brother.
"You seemed tensed," Evan said. "Something wrong?"
"How did you–" Freiheit shook his head, already knowing the answer. "You know me too well, Evanescence."
"Cut that out!" Evan glared.
"Sorry." Freiheit raised his hands, motioning for Evan to stop it with his threatening aura. "It's just..." He trailed off, looking down at the carpeted floor.
"Just?" Evan finally calmed down.
Freiheit looked at him eye-to-eye. "I know I'm the one who brought Eternity to you, but I just have this odd feeling towards her."
"Attraction?" Evan supplied. "She has this weird tendency to attract people. I thought her beauty caught me, but I noticed back in the mall that even other people were entranced by her. It's not odd or surprising, Freiheit."
"That's exactly what I mean!" Freiheit said, his voice raising a little. He lowered his head when he realized his volume was slightly louder than usual. "Evan, I think–"
"No," Evan interrupted him. "I don't want to hear it."
"But Evan–"
"Go to sleep, Freiheit," Evan ordered. "Don't even argue back anymore. I'm tired."
Without even waiting for Freiheit's response (he was hard-headed, of course; he was still going to argue even with Evan's warning), Evan pointed at the spare room that Freiheit always occupied whenever he came to visit.
"Just stay where you usually do," Evan said before heading towards his room, not even sparing Freiheit a second glance. "I'll get the orders myself. Let's eat it in the morning," he added just before he disappeared to his room.
Freiheit stood in the middle of the living room, motionless.
"I'll find out," Freiheit whispered to himself. "I'll find out the deal with these Eternity Women."
