Eternity's emerald eyes widened, and she opened her plump lips to speak, yet her throat could not produce a coherent sound in response to what she just heard.
But it seemed like she didn't need to because Olivia's gray eyes widened, and she pulled her hand away from Eternity's as if the contact with her skin had left her scalded.
"I said something off again, did I?" Olivia asked with a shaky, worried voice. "You're going to fire me, are you?"
Eternity furrowed her eyebrows, feeling confused at the turn of events. What the hell was going on?
"I'm sorry!" Olivia bowed her head as low as she could, probably even lower if it were not for the table in front of her. "People tell me I tend to say things that are beyond reasonable but make a lot of sense to me."
"Do not worry about that," Eternity soothed. "But I have my doubts about how someone else would react if you were to ask them the same thing."
