The Doll Adapting in Her Environment

"How's your first two weeks at Royal Blue so far?" J asked, taking a bite of his mashed potatoes.

Eternity shrugged, taking a sip of her orange juice. "The old ladies in my division are still pestering me about how I got hired, but most people are leaving me alone now."

She maintained an elegant composure, even though she knew that once they exited the cafeteria, she'd head to the restroom to vomit everything she had just eaten.

"How about you, J?" She asked, removing her lips from the straw, sensing he wanted to share his own experiences. "How's RBAB treating you?"

"Fabulous," he said with gusto, crossing his legs and launching into his story. "They've been treating me well. No discrimination so far, though that might be because no one here has noticed I'm gay."

He set his utensils down with a soft clank and shifted his gaze to Eternity, giving her a look she couldn't quite decipher.
