"That doesn't sound like much of an insult," Eternity said, looking quite perplexed.
"Oh, it is, Miss Doll." Jakob laughed dryly. "It is."
"How so?"
"Basically, what he's trying to say is that you don't really think of us—your gay friends—as your true friends and are merely using us as an accessory."
Eternity didn't have a real heart like a human, at least according to her knowledge about Eternity Women and herself. Despite this, she felt a tight ache in her chest upon hearing Jakob's explanation.
"So, all this time, this is what J thinks of me, huh?" she whispered to herself.
Her vision began to blur, and she could feel her eyes moistening. Eternity looked away, avoiding Jakob's gaze before he could notice.
But it was too late.
"Miss Doll?" Jakob straightened his back, alarmed at what was happening.
"I'm sorry…" she tried to speak, only for it to turn into a sob.
