Chapter 7: The Gleaming Eyes That Follow Your Every Step Part 2:

"Nicholas you're moving too fast, slowed down," said Maria as Nicholas ran towards the direction of the jeep. A few moments later they finally arrived at the Jeep and it was not what they were expecting. The Jeep looked relatively modern like someone had just left it there and wasn't an abandoned vehicle. Nicholas took out his camera and started taking photos of the jeep while Maria and Rei looked on in disappointment because they expected a vintage-style jeep there. Nicholas pokes fun at Maria and Rei's expectations of an old Jeep being here because if there was one don't you think the owners would come back and just take it? Maria reminded Nicholas that in his own words, he said it was an old Jeep when he proposed this idea. When the two siblings were bickering Rei decided to gaze at the forest scenery when his eyes fixed on a tail moving past one of the many trees. The tail was covered with white and black feathers when it moved past the trees, Rei tried to see if he could see the creature that the tail had belonged to but it was too late. Whatever the creature was had already left the area. Once Nicholas was done taking his photos the three kids began to take their leave from the area. Rei decided to let the others know of what he saw. The three note that they should leave the forest as soon as possible just in case that creature is not friendly. As the kids moved through the woods they noticed the sky was becoming more darker by the second as it was going to rain soon. As they walk through the woods they notice the sound of leaves crumpling behind. Nicholas was the first to turn around and when he did he noticed a pretty huge polar bear 10 feet away from them. The bear didn't seem to notice them as it sniffed the ground so Nicholas decided to turn to the others and whispered to them to stop. As the two stopped and looked behind them their faces turned tense as soon as they saw the polar bear staring at them. The three stood still as the polar bear wandered closer to them calmly but all of a sudden the bear stopped and looked to its left. The bear's behavior soon changed from calm to more aggressive, almost like it sensed something in its territory. Rei and Maria wondered what the bear was looking at, soon the bear charged in the direction it was looking at. Using that opportunity the three ran as fast as they could to get away.

Unfortunately for them, the same polar bear was near the entrance of the trail they came from. The polar bear was bloody as if it had a fight and it had an injury on his side that looked like the bear was stabbed by a dagger. Nicholas told the others that it was another exit from the trail that led to a nearby convenience store. Nicholas then silently motioned to them to leave for the second entrance as the three travel through the trail to the second exit Rei notices a cave to the far right of the trail. One thing that caught his eye was a sudden movement in the cave and that was when he noticed two gleaming eyes in the cave staring at them which looked back at him. The eyes seem bird-like, like a hawk or a falcon. He also noticed a blood trail leading to the cave. 2 minutes later the three finally made it to the convenience store where the three decided to stop and take a breather.

6 minutes later:

Vincent, Jason and Larry continued their search for the intruders until they found the Fable jeep. They found more footprints there which they continued to follow when they saw the footprints become more frantic the three continued their search until they made the other entrance. There they saw an unsuspected slight a blooding polar bear lying down at the entrance while making pained noises. Vincent then suggests Larry call for wildlife services to come and maybe save the bear which Larry does. While Larry starts making the call, Jason jokes with Vincent saying that Larry was wrong about there being no dangerous animals in the woods. Once the phone call was finished Vincent asked Larry if he could stay and wait for Wildlife Services to come and deal with the bear. Larry seemed like he didn't want to do it but Jason said he could do it as he had experience looking over animals when he gazed over the bear's injuries with a shocked look. Vincent asked Jason if he knew what could have happened, Jason just said most likely the intruder or hunter did that in an unconvincing. Vince knows that it is probably unlikely for an intruder and hunter as it is very likely the intruders are children and this area is close to personal property while being to a public area as well. It was also very unlikely for a human to stab a polar with a dagger that easily as well as the polar bear looked in poor condition. It seems impossible for a human to be able to do it. Vincent agreed to Jason's request while calling Larry to follow him while looking for the kids as he saw footprints leading away from the area. The two followed the trail to its end where the convenience store was located. "It seems like the intruders escaped and they are most likely far away from the area now Larry," said Vincent. Larry looked a little angry while also relieved as well. Suddenly Vincent heard a child's voice saying Mr. police officer. The voice was from Maria and Nicholas who were waving in Vincent's direction. "Do you know them?" Larry asked Vincent. Vincent nods in response and walks over to the convenience store with Larry. The kids explain the situation and Vincent helps phone their parents to come and pick them up. Larry decided to let the kids go on just a warning and left back to his home while Vincent had to wait for the parents to come and pick them up.
