Chapter Five

Cecelia (Aunt Ce) POV

I wake around midnight as I do every night as that’s when I have a quiet house and can truly investigate that damn book, that I have looked through a million times. Trying to see if I have missed anything and be able to locate the object, I has been made my mission. I don’t know why she can’t just try locating it herself. She just seems to want to cause more chaos. Which I didn’t mind that much anyways, it kept her off my back and happy, but she won’t be for too long if I don’t find what she’s looking for. I shake the dread and get up out of bed. I don’t need to get dressed as no one would be awake at this time, I just had to make it back to my room before dawn so I can get dressed in proper attire before those gremlins wake up. I grab a spill and light my candle, making the light dance across my room. I pick it up and start heading downstairs towards the library, I head straight for the wooden table that’s located in my area. Once I reach the table, I place the candle on it, close by just in case. I look down to find that some of my books have shifted a little, but I just shake it off, I must be losing my mind as I get older with years.

I found it under a random book that sits on this table. I unclip it and start skimming the words, turning each page, trying to find something. I just need something that points the location, I could feel my anger start to bubble, but I attempt to put it at bay for a little bit. After a lot more page turning, I end up hearing a loud bang on the other side of the room. I look around to see if anyone was there, but I could see anything, it was too dark. I mostly likely that damn cat that I gave Madison after everything that happened to her. I wanted her to be able to trust me I need her to later in her life, well that’s what I’ve been told. What Madison understands is that cat, which she named Luna, its not even a cat in the first place. I could feel joy sizzling up inside, from think on what I did ten years ago. The cat is truthful her mother, I casted a phantom image of her being hung, but I turned her in a cat and gave her to Madison. The funniest thing is she named it Luna, which she got from her nickname that Freddrick, her forsaken father used to call her mother. I needed someone to use against her, so I could manipulate her, and she had a closer relationship with her mother. I turned back to the book sifting through each word on every page.

“Where is it? She’s not going to be pleased if I don’t find it.” I said a little too loud and a bit frustrated at no being able locate it. Once again, I must’ve gotten lost in the book, as I started to notice that the morning light was stream through the window, the amount of light, I could tell that it was close to five-thirty and that means that in about thirty minutes the housemaids, and cook will be up to start their daily chores and about an hour the boys will be awake. I slammed the book shut, my anger got the better of me this time, I blew out the candle. I turned around to start heading for the stairs, when I saw Madison, but I acted as I didn’t until was about to leave the library, I gave her eye contact and smirked at her. I then headed upstairs towards my room, when I entered; I headed for my closet and grab the closes dress. It was a pale green dress and I put on some matching flats.

I headed back down the stairs and started my head of house duties, the boys and I sat at the dining table for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but Madison never showed her face the whole day, so instead of whingeing about it, I sent her meals up to her. I’ll just have to see if she comes down tomorrow and if she does, I’ll just give her a little spook. I giggle to myself at the thought of how her face will look like. I did send message to my friend, informing them that Madison knows about the book. Hopefully, I won’t get into trouble as it was too early for the plan to be set yet.
