Bai Lu finally caught her breath and gave him another big eye roll.
"Young Master Yan, please bless me with a peaceful breakfast."
Yan Xu picked up a dumpling for her, undeterred by her eye roll and reminded her,
"Doctor Bai, you still haven't answered my question."
Bai Lu sighed helplessly, "Young Master, what makes you think that way?"
Yan Xu pointed to his head, "On my intuition..."
Bai Lu glared at him disdainfully, "Yan Xu, your great wisdom and intuition are supposed to be used against enemies, not against weak and innocent commoners like me."
Yan Xu withdrew his piercing gaze and picked up his chopsticks to dip a dumpling in vinegar before putting it into his mouth.
"With my extraordinary insight, the more evasive and vague the answers, the more problematic it becomes."
Bai Lu smiled, raising both hands to show her surrender, "Young Master Yan, I admit he did confess his feelings to me, but I've clearly rejected him. Now, we're just purely colleagues."
