Chapter 6 Let me take a look for you_1

In the afternoon, TianDu City, on a certain street, in front of the Humanity Clinic.

Zhang Xian took out the note to confirm the address, gave a long sigh of relief, and stepped in.

Behind the wooden desk in the clinic, an old man was reading a newspaper, periodically adjusting his old-fashioned glasses, engrossed in his reading.

Seemingly hearing footsteps, the old man abruptly looked up. Seeing a young man standing in front of him, he hurriedly put down his newspaper and smiled, "Young man, what seems to be the problem?"

"I am not here for treatment." Zhang Xian shook his head and smiled, "You must be Mr. Zhu Wen, right? I am Zhang Xian, Master Gui's apprentice."

"You... you are Master Gui's apprentice?" After Zhu Wen stuttered for a moment, he closely inspected Zhang Xian and then laughed excitedly, "Come, come, don't just stand there, sit down. I've been waiting for you all this time. Never thought you would come at this hour. You had this old man worried sick. By the way, how's Master Gui these days? It's been a long time since we've been in touch, and I can't get a hold of him."

Zhang Xian looked at Zhu Wen, who spoke incessantly as a rapid-fire cannon, and couldn't help but chuckle, "Old man Gui is living a life more comfortable than anyone else can imagine."

"That's good to hear, that's good to know. I've been worried about him!" Zhu Wen nodded repeatedly.

"Uh, Mr. Zhu, I might be imposing on you for a while, Old Man Gui must have mentioned this to you, right?" Zhang Xian awkwardly laughed.

When Zhang Xian was leaving the mountain, Old Man Gui had told him that if he couldn't rely on his wife in Yanjing, he should come to TianDu to stay with Zhu Wen temporarily.

While he may not have thought much about it previously, the mere thought of it now made him quite discouraged. It appears that Old Man Gui had started to anticipate this outcome and had prepared alternatives for him.

"He mentioned it a long time ago." Zhu Wen nodded, "Don't worry, it's not just about staying for a while, even if you decide to retire here, it's no problem at all. Don't treat yourself as a guest, consider yourself at home. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that if it weren't for Master Gui, I wouldn't be where I am today. Master Gui is a great benefactor of the Zhu family, this tiny matter of yours is really nothing."

"Then I'll be counting on you, Mr. Zhu." After laughing, Zhang Xian curiously asked, "By the way, Mr. Zhu, you said that Old Man Gui contacts you frequently?"

"Not exactly frequent, thanks to your luck." Zhu Wen chuckled, "Actually, ever since Master Gui saved my life, I've been so grateful and have always wanted the chance to express my gratitude. But Master Gui has always been elusive. I can't contact him unless he takes the initiative to contact me. However, he did contact me due to your visit, which gave me a great opportunity to express my gratitude."

Zhang Xian, hearing this, felt relieved.

In this world, the only person that could probably contact Old Man Gui at any time was him alone.

Yet, even this was in the past. Now, he was not so sure, given Old Man Gui's eccentricity.

"Doctor Zhu, there you are!"

Suddenly, a middle-aged woman ran in panting, "Come here, quickly take a look at me. All morning, the eyebrow on my left side almost gave me a headache, it's just too bothersome."

"On your left eyebrow?" Zhu Wen was taken aback, signaling with his hands, "Come here."

The middle-aged woman obliged and sat down in front of Zhu Wen.

"Have you felt any nausea or vomiting, or a cough?" after one look, Zhu Wen smilingly asked.

"No, it just hurts around my eyebrow, it beats, and it's worse when I lean over, and the pain doesn't last long, it generally lasts for about two hours." The middle-aged woman replied.

"Well, it's just sinusitis causing trigeminal nerve pain, here I'll give you a few recommended medicines. In the future, make sure you get enough rest, and eat less spicy food." Zhu Wen laughed, got up and went to fetch the medicine.

"Alright, thank you." The middle-aged woman laughed, then turned to look at Zhang Xian and asked with a smile, "Handsome lad, what seems to be bothering you?"

"Eh... are you asking...me..." Zhang Xian pointed at himself, puzzled.

"Of course, you! I can't call Doctor Zhu a handsome lad, now can I?" The middle-aged woman laughed heartily.

"Well, I... I don't seem to have any discomfort. I... I'm here to lend a hand." Zhang Xian awkwardly laughed.

"Ha! Not bad. Doctor Zhu, being skilled and kind-hearted, is destined for great things. And mind you, Doctor Zhu's granddaughter is a real beauty, so you've got the advantage of a close neighbor." The middle-aged woman appeared quite talkative.

Zhang Xian was lost for words. What was this about?

"Here, take your medicine." Zhu Wen had prepared the medicine and, laughing, placed it on the table.

"Ok, thank you, Doctor Zhu." The middle-aged woman laughed, paid, picked up the medicine, and prepared to leave.

At that moment, a group of young men approached. One of the men was dressed in a formal shirt, with his face masked in grief, hunching over and clutching his stomach, wailing as if he had lost his mother.

The three other young men had angry expressions. After walking in, one of them angrily asked, "Old man Zhu, how do you practice medicine? My brother had just a simple cold, and now look at him after he took your medicine!"

"What happened?" Zhu Wen asked in surprise.

"You still got the nerve to ask?" A young man in red shouted angrily, "Your clinic, is it meant to save people or harm them?"

"Exactly..." Another young man in white cursed, "After my brother took your medicine, he started experiencing vomiting and diarrhea, and keeps complaining about stomach pain. What did you give him?"

"Just ordinary cold medicine!" Zhu Wen knitted his eyebrows, beckoning with his hand, "You there, come here and let me have a look."

"You want to see him?" The young man in red rebuked angrily, "He's barely alive after seeking your consultation yesterday. If you examine him again, would he even live to see the new year?"

Zhu Wen's face turned pale, he was indeed frightened. The young guy in the formal shirt seemed familiar - he seemed to have visited yesterday. He clearly remembered that the diagnosis did not show any significant problems. However, the man kept complaining about feeling unwell, suffering from constant dizziness and lack of energy. Although it was not a big deal, since he insisted he was unwell, all Zhu Wen could do was prescribe some mild cold medicine.

Now that the young man had suddenly started vomiting and suffering from diarrhea and a stomach ache, Zhu Wen was rather perplexed. Those few medicinal herbs he prescribed yesterday wouldn't cause this kind of reaction, no matter how they were taken!

As an experienced traditional doctor, he was sure of which people need to avoid which type of medicine; a situation like this couldn't possibly occur.

"Let me take a look." Suddenly Zhang Xian took out a packet of golden needles and, grinning from ear to ear, walked towards the young man, "Don't worry, it won't hurt when I insert the needle."

"You… what are you trying to do?" The young man in the formal shirt responded in shock.

Who the hell is this guy? What's he doing with that long golden needle? Is he planning to stick it into me?

"Zhang Xian, you... " Zhu Wen was taken aback when he saw Zhang Xian withdraw the golden needle.

"Mr. Zhu, rest assured, I know what's going on with this lad. Leave it to me." Zhang Xian shot Zhu Wen a reassuring glance, grabbed the young man's arm and smiled eerily.

"You... let me go." The young man in the formal shirt nearly jumped from fright - so energetic you wouldn't believe he was the one with a stomachache.

The other young men were enraged, ready to pounce at Zhang Xian.

However, Zhang Xian moved lightning fast and appeared behind the young man dressed formally. The golden needle in his hand quickly penetrated an acupuncture point on his back.

"Ouch.." A tortured scream echoed.

The formally dressed young man was about to find Zhang Xian when he felt a sudden pain in his back. Following that, an even more unbearable pain emerged from his abdomen, nearly knocking him unconscious. What's worse, the pain continued.
