Zhang Xian saw that all of the women were looking at him, even Xiao Nan expected him to cook some dishes. Out of exasperation, he got up and went to the kitchen.

Since they had bought vegetables in the afternoon, there wasn't much left. After cooking one meal, all that was left were two tomatoes, some pea tendrils, some chili peppers, and a palm-sized piece of lean meat.

"How am I going to cook these?"

Zhang Xian gave a weary smile, walked over to the refrigerator, and opened it.

Relieved to find a few eggs that hadn't spoiled, he thought he might just be able to make tomato scrambled eggs and stir-fried pork with pea tendrils. There was nothing left for him to work with, so they couldn't blame him for only making two dishes.

"What are you all just standing there for?"
