Chapter 31 - Flies Don't Bite Seamless Eggs_1

The evening was bustling with shoppers, and it took Basil Jaak and Xenia Wendleton quite some time queuing before it was almost their turn.

With only one customer ahead, Xenia suddenly clutched her stomach, crying out in discomfort.

"What's wrong?" asked Basil.

"My stomach hurts, I need to go to the restroom, you pay for me," Xenia said, handing her credit card to Basil, she then dashed toward the restroom.

Just as Basil prepared to inspect the credit card, the customer in front had paid and left. The crisp voice of the cashier girl rang out: "Sir, it's your turn to pay."

"Oh!" Basil gently acknowledged, picking out the items from the cart.

At first, it was just a bunch of snacks, so nothing to be worried about, but then, surprisingly, the rest of the items were women's... stockings!
