Chapter 9 Doing Good Deeds_1

Zoc knew that Basil Jaak had summoned him outside because he had something to say. He nodded softly and followed Basil Jaak out of the martial arts hall.

In the early autumn night, there was a slight chill. The cold wind that seeped through carried a bracing cold that sent shivers down one's spine.

Seeing Basil Jaak reach into his pocket for a cigarette, Zoc quickly took out his own and offered it: "Jaak, have mine!"

Basil Jaak's eyes widened at the sight of the cigar in Zoc's hand. He accepted it with a smile and said, "Not bad, Zoc, I see you've started smoking cigars after hanging around for a few days."

Zoc gave a bitter smile. "Jaak, stop teasing me. You gave me these."

"No, if you choose this path, you're making your own decision. It has nothing to do with me," Basil Jaak rebuffed, taking a drag from his cigar.

Zoc just sighed, knowing that Basil Jaak opposed his involvement in underworld activities.
