Chapter 356 Explanation of Basil Jaak_1

Basil Jaak rolled his eyes and said irritably, "Are you really forgetting, or are you playing dumb with me? Last night, when I was hitching a ride home with you, you insisted I stay for a drink. You said nothing else mattered, and getting drunk could blur all worries. Then you dragged me into this muddled state of drinking. We drank until dawn, and when I was ready to leave, you had me sleep on the couch. To tell you the truth, I have no idea how you ended up sleeping next to me."

Upon hearing Basil's explanation, Yetta Astir pressed her hand against her throbbing head, her thoughts reverberating. Everything seemed to have happened just as Basil described: they simply had a few drinks, and sleeping on the couch was an accident. They hadn't even taken off their clothes, hence asserting her innocence.

"But, my mother doesn't believe us," Yetta suddenly frowned, unsure of how to explain this to Mrs. Astir.
