Chapter 40 Her Majesty the Queen, You Win_1

The Eternal Night Queen was lightly leaning against the bed, her elongated, fox-like eyes narrowed into two straight lines. This same servant who stood respectfully by her side barely dared to breathe.

The Eternal Night Queen raised her hand slightly, propping her head up. She spoke in a soft voice: "You seem to question my actions?"

"I wouldn't dare!" the servant hastily responded.

"It's not a matter of daring or not. It's ok to question," the Eternal Night Queen glanced at the servant and continued, "You have a feud with Fairy Powell. You thought that bringing her here would invite severe punishment upon her. Yet you see that I have merely held her captive without any further harsh treatment. This puzzles and even disgrunts you, doesn't it?"

On hearing the Eternal Night Queen's words, the servant quickly bowed and began defending himself: "Your Majesty, while your decision confuses me, I have never questioned it, let alone dared to disobey."
