Chapter 144: Letter of Understanding_1

Basil Jaak picked the book back up to continue reading to Dawn Sutton, but before he was even finished with a page, the door to the sick room was abruptly opened and a man and woman barged in.

Both of them appeared to be in their forties and carried themselves arrogantly, as if their noses were pointing skywards.

"Are you the woman my son stabbed?" The middle-aged woman began with the question.

To be honest, the audacity of her words itched Basil's palm for a slap. What a clear demonstration of like father, like son. But reconsidering the hospital setting, he decided to let it go.

But the woman wasn't done yet. She pointed at Dawn Sutton and snapped, "Listen here, we are here to give you money! As long as you sign the letter of understanding, we will give you ten thousand dollars for your medical expenses, otherwise you won't get a dime."
