The voice beyond the square was not unfamiliar to Basil Jaak: it was the Eliot Family Manor's old butler!
The old butler, in his fifties, had salt-and-pepper hair but veritably brimmed with vitality. Evidently, he was also a master of ancient martial arts, albeit not of a high realm.
At that moment, the old butler held a handgun, its muzzle aimed at Basil Jaak as he walked in from outside the square.
"Basil Jaak," he said, "I know you are formidable, but however formidable, are you more so than my gun? This is no longer ancient times. Do you think that with your brute strength alone, you could dominate the world? You're mistaken! Now there is high technology! Do you believe that if you move now, I wouldn't have you killed on the spot?"
The old butler, loyal to Truaman, came up to him and bowed his head, asking, "Master, are you all right?"
