Chapter 19 Night, Cool as Water_1

...

During this season, the temperature differences between day and night are quite significant.

The night is as cool as water.

Faye Owen rummaged through her suitcase for some winter clothes, bundling herself up like a dumpling, curled up on the Simmons bedding. She was cold and hungry. The bread and milk she had bought from the supermarket had all been devoured by that shameless bastard. Damn him, eating all her food, not even afraid of overeating. She was so hungry and cold.

If someone were to give her a blanket along with a hot, sizzling steak, she'd even be willing to trade her beloved handbag for it. She had no idea how much time had passed before her perfectly shaped nose scrunched up slightly at the smell of meat, seemingly wafting in through the gap in the door.
