Chapter 585: Like Being in a Tribunal_1

Yves King stayed alone in the living room, vehemently smoking, pacing up and down restlessly, and occasionally glancing at the securely closed door of the ward. Anxiety gnawed at him like ants on a hot pan. What could those two women be discussing inside?

It wasn't that he was afraid they would start a brawl. After all, both ladies were well-educated and respected in their circles. It wasn't plausible that they would fight over a man in such an irrational manner.

A bitter smile involuntarily adorned his lips, and he shook his head. He felt like a heavy criminal nervously awaiting the judge's sentence—freedom or immediate execution. Both seemed possible.
