"What's the deal with this car, no problems, right?" the landlady asked while placing her cellphone in front of her.
"Definitely no problems, sis. We're all acquaintances here; I'd surely give you the best car available."
"Then why does my friend say your car is a flood-damaged vehicle?" the landlady asked sternly.
At the mention of those three words, the man visibly panicked.
Wasn't he told that this classmate is a naive rich sucker who's easy to fool?
Why did she then bother to double-check with someone else?
Damn.
"How could it possibly be a flood-damaged car? Haven't I already shown you, sis? It's very clean under the hood. If it were flood-damaged, you'd find sediment in there, which is easy to spot. Otherwise, we can open it up again..."
"My friend said the flood damage on your car is pretty obvious."
The landlady didn't know if it was her imagination, but she felt the man suddenly becoming frantic.
