The Big Day

Outside, the stands were filling up. It was a home match for Elysium Nexus Academy so Heaven Dune High was the one coming to their school. Their buses had arrived and the supporters as well as the members started to come out and walked towards the field and stands.

Nearly all of the supporters were students and the Elysium Nexus students noticed that they all looked a bit rough around the edges. Glances from the other side caused the students to quickly look away.

"Hey, do you mind if I sit here?" A voice asked him suddenly. When Red Sunn turned to look at the person, he noticed that a beauty had approached him, someone he recognised from his class.

"You're… Chloe, right? You sure you wouldn't rather sit with the girls from our class?" He asked, getting all red faced.

"If it's a problem or you're reserving that seat for someone else, I can just look for another."

Red Sunn quickly shook his head and patted the seat next to him, clearing off the dust and then gestured for the girl to take the seat.

Finally, it was time for the teams to face each other. The ones walking at the front were Daniel and Gil as they were the most senior members. The captain of the Aerion football club walked confidently, yet his partner seemed to be somewhat lost.

Facing them was the team from Heaven Dune High, led by the twins Sren and Leng. As they saw who they would be facing, everyone on their side broke out in laughter.

Although most of the Elysium Aerion football team looked scared, there were two members who were more determined than ever. Getting into the centre of the field, the group started to practice a little, and soon the game would start.

"Emily" Willy whispered to his best friend. "Don't try… too hard, ok."

Emily, looked back, and gave a thumbs up, she looked into the crowd and could suddenly see Chloe and Red Sunn sitting next to each other and the next moment she could feel something burn inside of her.

'Sorry, willy…I might have to try a little hard.' Emily thought to herself.

——

Emily let out a big sigh as she got into her newly assigned position all the Elysium Nexus Aerion football players wore blue unity suit while the Heaven Dune High Aerion football team wore gold with white trim and white energy source so when they all booted their suit the chest of the golden suit glowed white in synchronization.

As the two Aerion football teams soared through the clouds, their jetpacks propelling them forward with incredible speed and agility, the tension in the air was palpable. The crowd watched in awe as the players darted and weaved around each other, their movements seemingly impossible for mere mortals. This was no ordinary game of football – this was Aerion, where the laws of physics were bent and twisted to create an exhilarating spectacle unlike anything else in the world.

The commentators, perched high above the field in their state-of-the-art broadcasting booth, couldn't help but marvel at the sheer skill on display. "And there goes Team Heaven Dune, flying high once again!" exclaimed one of them, his voice filled with excitement. "They're really putting on a show today, folks. Their opponents, Team Elysium Nexus, are going to have to step up their game if they want to stand a chance."

Emily was placed on the right wing, while Daniel would be on the left wing. Even though he wasn't left handed, the star player could play well in any position.

'I should probably refrain from using Rage for now. Let's see how I do with just my basic stats.'

[Strength 8] (+3)

[Dexterity 6] (+3)

[Endurance 12] (+3)

In Aerion football, To score a point, one would have to fly up to the opponent's white ring and put the Aerion orb to score. The main rules were that you could only throw back the ball, you could use your feet and hands on the ball, but other than that, players were free to tackle each other as they wished.

Team Heaven Dune is absolutely dominating the field today, folks!" one of the commentators proclaimed, his voice brimming with enthusiasm. "Their jetpacks are firing on all cylinders, allowing them to perform death-defying maneuvers that leave their opponents in the dust. Just look at them go – it's like they're dancing on the wind!"

[Dexterity 6] (+9)

Emily Immediately activated Skirmisher and flew towards the player who caught the orb. The Heaven Dune High players were confident in their strength, especially when they saw a scrawny girl come towards them. Even if they got tackled, they intended to pass the orb to the next person before falling.

However, Emily got close and immediately dived down hitting the orb carrier's legs. The surprised student fell down like a sack of potatoes but twisted mid air as he regained his balance. Part of it was due to the unexpectedness of the unconventional method used, but the other half was because of the strength that he felt from Emily.

When the student lost his balance he dropped the Aerion orb, yet a short-haired boy picked it up almost instantly. Sren flew forward, yet Emily quickly recovered and went in for another tackle. As she dived, the new orb carrier quickly spun and thereby evaded the attack.

"Too slow." Sren sneered as he flew forward. Using his agility and his teammates, he was able to avoid most of the Elysium Nexus team by darting around the side and passing the Aerion orb back and forth but mostly because they were the benchwarmers. Daniel was their last defense.

Team Heaven Dune executed a flawless series of barrel rolls, their jetpacks humming in perfect harmony. The crowd gasped in awe, mesmerized by the sheer precision and skill on display.

"Wow, did you see that?" exclaimed the second commentator, her voice filled with wonder. "That was textbook Aerion tactics – they're using their jetpacks to create a localized gravity field.

Another player flew across trading paths with Sren. He burst forth from the pack, his jetpack flaring bright blue as he shot forward It only took a split second and he continued to move forward. Daniel successfully tackled Sren to the ground, but that's when he could see that he no longer had the Orb.

"You might be a good player but you seem to be lacking in the brains department." Sren taunted the other.

He drifted of course and brought his leg down on the orb delivering a powerful kick and putting the orb in the opponent's ring_drifting while facing the ring was just to taunt the opposite team.

The referee blew into his whistle signalling that Heaven Dune High had scored the first point of the match. As for the one that had scored, it was none other than Leng.

And there you have it, folks – the first goal of the game, courtesy of Team Heaven Dune!" declared the lead commentator, his voice booming across the stadium. "That was a thing of beauty, a true work of art. I don't know how Team Elysium Nexus is going to recover from this – they're going to have to pull off something truly remarkable if they hope to catch up."
