With darkness quickly creeping up in the skies, the situation in the Sloane Theocracy had escalated beyond the point of redemption starting from the borders with eerieness that promptly took over the land in the most hideous ways.
During the darkness and silence of the night, the neighbours of the villages and towns would congregate at their homes, sitting by their chimnies to grasp some heat. They would be shivering, but it wouldn't be only because of the cold weather that assailed this country.
It was because some of them knew... they felt what they would witness by the morning.
No noise, no screams, no rustling, no fights...
Once the morning came, the cold dissipated and gave way to the sun, they would see it.
!!!
They would fall on their knees with shivering eyes, staring at those long poles that looked as if they were going to reach the heavens, all bloodied and hideous. At the end of those poles... that's where they were.
"What is going on? what is this?!"
"My lady, my lord!".
It didn't matter what village or town, what dukedom, what territory of a baron, earl or marques; they wouldn't fail to see the heads of the leaders of those powerful families, the influential nobles of every region, their maids and butlers, their children... all impaled in the centre of the city for everyone to witness.
And they would fear for their lives, and they would spread the word to the next city; and so the fear would spread to the next Baron, the next Earl, the next Count in the Sloane Theocracy, until there was only chaos.
Those men and women knelt on the ground and wept in uncertainty, on the other hand... those wicked of heart would march to the manors and mansions of those nobles only to find them empty and bereft of life, filled up to the brim with the devastated corpses of the guards and adventures hired to protect them, those whose corpses looked like they had fought a fight that was meaningless from the start –not against humans but instead, monsters.
Humongous riches coated with crimson fresh blood for them to plunder. Among all that chaos, they would read a set of words written in the blood of those who had perished on the spot.
'Ains Ooal Gown sends his regards'.
...
To be able to complete this titanic task, Ray needed help... and Haku who was the only other individual capable of using his skill, the moonlight mist, was the perfect candidate.
After becoming aware of his intentions, Galadriel had reproached her dearest. She said Ray was going too far and although freeing all those slaves and restoring them to their communities would certainly be like a dream come true to her, the real cost of this operation was too much to bear for even a God.
And it was the truth.
Ray had proposed himself to free millions of slaves in a month maximum after which he'd lead the elves to the Elf Kingdom to dethrone Decem Hougan. A month was an extremely short timeframe for such a massive endeavour.
But he was confident that with the amount of energy he possessed after becoming an overgod, he would be able to manage.
One of those nights, Ray stood in Limbo as he watched the spectacle that wasn't enjoyable in the least. A gigantic darkness dome wrapped the gigantic city of Alaine, a city at the northeastern border; its purpose was to conceal noise and misdirect attention.
At least ten massive combats were taking place in this city at night, all of which Ray witnessed.
"Master, there is no need for you to be out here tonight, you should rest for now before it is time for your next batch" A gust of darkness spoke by his side, it was Haku.
"I am okay, Haku. I can handle it".
"But you have bags under your eyes" She sounded worried, even with how much power had achieved, this was still something beyond the scope of possibility.
"This is something minimal, please take care of the rest for me".
"Yes!".
Haku went on her way, each one of the members involved in this operation had a crucial duty, hers was to transport those slaves into the moonlight mist to be treated while occasionally joining the battles in case there were any mishaps.
As for Ray: constant spatial transmission, boundless energy for Katsuyu's clones, boundless energy for his summons, keeping the moonlight mist stable for life preservation and lastly, therapy. Ray had become a massive battery from which energy was constantly flowing.
And even that seemed to not be enough to meet the demand. A small clone of Katsuyu was on his shoulders, and that slug looked wasted and tired.
...
The battle down on the ground seemed to reach its climax. The place: A noble manor. Yuri Alpha was the decoy of the operation while downstairs Alana together with some Starlight Angels put the slaves to be shipped into the Moonlight Mist.
...
"A buff spell, huh?" Yuri Alpha sighed, her arms covered in blood from how many she had mercilessly crushed, and there were more to come.
"Who are you, what is your objective?!" The last adventurer standing commented, I noticed he seemed to have a spell planted on him, something likely done by Black Scripture, it was a surveillance spell.
Yuri Alphan noticed this as well and thus, donned her best smile and a court yet eerie bow.
"I merely wish to accomplish my master, Ains Ooal Gown's will~".
Then her body disappeared like a phantom and the next thing I saw was that mercenary's head exploding like a watermelon. She had no mercy whatsoever. Once she was done she headed downstairs and I manipulated the blood to leave a message that would take the Slane's Theocracy attention out of the northeast and towards the new Nazarick.
According to Solution's information, Ains Ooal Gown was advancing in strides and he had lost any semblance of humanity in his behaviour. He committed unadulterated genocide in the human and demihuman communities in the west to add them to his undead army and gained the name of 'Undead King' among the nations who were already making preparations for his invasion.
He even marched to conquer the Argland State Council, taking advantage of the fact that my conquest in the Baharut Empire had severely weakened Tsaindorcus Vaision, who was the strongest dragon in that state.
He struggled still and that was a long war, but I had no doubt he was going to win and by then his undead army would be stronger.
It was also the reason why I had to hurry up in my preparations. Ains Ooal Gown has the Elf Kingdom as one of his next objectives after he finishes conquering the Re-Estize Kingdom.
My fate for the Elf Kingdom was salvation, his fate for it was a barren land filled with Undead Elves.
We were opposite and at the end of this journey, he and I would have to face each other and come at odds for Nazarick.
One last time.
