Duel of the Academies The Spell Competition

There were two people on the stage at the end of the hall. Alpha immediately recognized her teacher, Eldemed Digeon, but the other person was unknown to her. A middle-aged man with noticeable dark circles under his eyes and disheveled brown hair tied in a ponytail. He wore a brown coat and white pants. Curious, Alpha whispered to Eleonora: "Who is this Diego Kanon Ijeiska and what is the Jerga-Kanon class?"

Eleonora explained quietly, "The Jerga-Kanon class is the school's elite class, consisting of powerful heroes with direct descent from Diego Kanon after his death." Alpha nodded as Diego began to introduce himself.

"I'm Diego Kanon Ijeiska, the headmaster of the Hero Academy and teacher of the Jerga-Kanon class, but let's skip the formalities, we'll start with a knowledge competition," he explained with a serious tone. When Diego excitedly announced the knowledge competition, at that moment two large wooden tables were pushed onto the stage, covered by a white cloth, which aroused the curiosity of the students. When Diego uncovered the cloth, two cages appeared in which hamsters served as test subjects. Diego explained that two students each, one from the Hero Academy and one from the Demon King Academy, should demonstrate their knowledge.

From the Hero Academy, Diego chose a young Beastkin named Heine and a female elf. Eldemed chose Asmdoina and Lilim from the Demon King Academy. The students took the stage ready to show off their skills.

Heine, a young beastkin with blonde hair and a blonde tail, began his contribution. He presented the hero spell "Holy Strength" by placing a long sword on a stone board. The sword was imbued with runes and white light. Heine picked up the runes and the sword began to glow. The spell strengthened the sword fivefold, and he broke through a stone figure with a single blow. Diego praised his performance as an impressive start.

Now it was Asmdoina's turn to show off her skills. Purple eyes glowed in her mask as she performed the demon spell "Negram." Lightning shot from her eyes and a circle of magic formed. The red lightning struck the hamster, which transformed into a demonic creature with black fur, purple eyes, and razor-sharp teeth. Even the plants in the hamster's enclosure became dangerous plants. The table gave way, cracks appeared in the stone floor, and the students screamed in fear.

Asmdoina stood there quietly as if nothing had happened and said, "What's wrong? Not enough yet?" With a loud snap, the monster transformed into a slimy mass, forming a long black sword surrounded by red runes, with an obsidian hilt and a powerful, sharp blade that glowed purple. In the background, Diego could be heard saying, "Impossible! A demonic sword? That can't be! Such a thing is not possible! How could you create a demonic sword from a beast?" Asmdoina left this uncommented and with a word the sword shot straight into her hand like a bullet. This ended the first round. Eldemed and the students clapped, Alpha nodded to Asmdoina, and Diego named Asmdoina the winner of the first round, who bowed to their audience and now let Lilim go first. When it was Lilim's turn, she turned to the elf girl named Dienth with a confident smile. The elegant school uniform of the Jerga-Kanon class emphasized Dienth's elven grace. She exuded an aura of elegance in her red ensemble with heavenly blue eyes, a narrow face and elven ears. The blonde hair completed the image of a truly talented magician.

Dienth performed the spell "Ebasta" and purple luminosity emanated from the hamster's chest section. With a cheerful smile, she took the luminosity in her hand and used the spell "Ebasta". The source pulsed, and the hamster ghost-like transformed into an exact replica of Dienth. An enchanting trick that amazed the audience.

Lilim stood next to her and commented, "An interesting trick." Dienth, with a mischievous glint in his eyes, replied, "Thank you, Lilim. But I'm sure you have much more impressive things in store." Lilim smiled mysteriously and turned to the audience.

But then, with eyes of destruction glowing red, Lilim intended to eclipse Asmdoina's spells and showcase her magical prominence. With a mere wave of his hand, black smoke appeared, followed by runes that hit the hamster. This again became a demonic creature with black fur, purple eyes and razor-sharp teeth.

The students' eyes reflected fear again. The beast attacked Lilim, but she stood calmly and conjured a barrier to prevent the beast from leaving the stage. Lilim reassured the students: "Stay calm, the beast cannot escape." At that moment, Lilim's hand pierced the beast's body, and the previously cast spell allowed her to directly touch the beast's source. The creature was wracked with pain, blood spreading as the pain surpassed all the pain in the world.

"That's impressive," Dienth whispered as the students watched excitedly. The gazes of the Hero Academy and the Demon King Academy met, and a silent challenge hung in the air.

Then Lilim spared the beast, removed its hand and cast the spell "Lyfid". With this spell, she could transform any ordinary object or creature with sufficient magical power into a magical object. Blue runes appeared, the beast disappeared, and from the shadow emerged a demonic sword similar to Asmdoina's.

The students' reactions were astonished, and Diego, who had been watching the scene carefully, also nodded, impressed. "This is magic on another level," Eleonora murmured.

Lilim ended her demonstration with a loud snap of her fingers, and the beast reverted to a normal hamster. The sword dissolved. Lilim and Asmdoina shook hands as a sign of recognition with their opponents in this duel. The scene was interrupted by Diego, who caught everyone's attention with a confident gesture. "Dear students, I hereby announce the end of this fascinating competition!" Diego's voice echoed through the hall as he caught the gaze of the magic students.

Eleonora looked at Heine and Dienth, an excited sparkle in her eyes. "That was really impressive, wasn't it?" Heine nodded in agreement. "Yes, these demonstrations were on another level. We must prepare to face such talented magicians."

Dienth, with a lively gleam in her sky-blue eyes, added: "But you know, it certainly won't be easy. These people have some fascinating tricks up their sleeves."

Meanwhile, the students of the Demon King Academy gathered, and Asmdoina was in the middle of a conversation with Lilim. "You were great out there," Asmdoina remarked with an appreciative smile. "I have to admit, I learned a lot from you." Lilim returned the smile. "Same, Asmdoina. Your magic is truly unique. I look forward to our duel in the tournament."

The atmosphere was tense as Diego continued with further announcements. "As I mentioned, another exciting event is upon us! A tournament of magic, a duel between classes. The Jerga-Kanon class will face off against the elite students of the Demon King Academy, Team Shadow Garden. A magical duel , 4 against 4!"
