Chapter 2

Anabel was fastened to rise from bed, as the voice of Jane her mom kept calling on her. She rosed up at exactly 6:00 am and staggered to the kitchen where her mom was already preparing breakfast.

"Greetings Mom. What's the reason for your voice this dark morning?" She asked while her words were interfered with by her constant yawning.

"You and your father are going out this morning, prepare immediately" Jane informed

"I don't understand mom. Where are we heading to? You mean I won't be serving in Madam Edna's restaurant today?" She asked with a squeezy face.

Just then, her father entered the kitchen whilst knotting his tie.

"You are still here? You should be dressing up by now, we don't have time and we mustn't be late" He informed.

"I don't get you two. I wasn't informed of a morning outing" She replied

"Sorry for not informing you dear. Based on our previous discussion two days ago, I got connected with Sharon through the company secretary and last night when you were already asleep, I got a call from Sharon. She's giving me an appointment this morning and I want you to be there with me" He explained.

"Jeez!! What a surprise! You amaze me Dad" She excitedly said as she walked to hug him and her mother.

"Ride on, go have a bath and hurry up. This might be an opportunity for you" Jane prompted.

She hurried up to the bathroom and soon, they were off to their destination.

They arrived at the company by 8:00 am, after battling with the issues of high traffic jamb on the road of New York, and not long after their arrival, Mr. John was called into the office by Madam Sharon, through one of her bodyguards.

He went in without Anabel whom he told to be expectant. He needed to convince Sharon of Anabel's potential and determination to excel. For him, it's either she gives her a loan in his name or invests in her for mutual benefits. Their discussion was intense and forty minutes later, Sharon asked for Anabel's presence.

"Good morning mam" Anabel greeted calmly, as she was more humbled by the interior beauties of the company. She was wowed by the executive appearance of Sharon's office. For she was just seeing such auras of excellence for the first time.

"Greetings dear, how are you?" Sharon humbly responded.

"I'm cool Mam" She replied.

Sharon watched her mannerisms and saw the sincerity in them. She was struck by the captivating beauty of Anabel, which then changed a resolution she had with Anabel's dad. She had thought of something very important as the thoughts of her son Gabriel came to mind.

"Young lady, how old are you?" She asked.

"I'm twenty-four" She replied.

"Have you ever been engaged in a marital relationship?" She asked based on a thought running through her mind.

"No ma, I haven't" Anabel replied as she sees the questions as an intriguing part of the process.

Yes, she needs to know who I am, for her to be sure of the safety of her assistance" Anabel thought, not knowing the true reasons for her questions, and what next might surface.

"Could you please excuse us for a few minutes? I will call on you"Sharon said.

"No issues mam" She responded to Sharon's will and left.

Twenty minutes later, she was called again by Sharon, and by this time, she had come to concrete terms with John, as the requisite for her. assistance would be on mutual benefits that must be bounded by an agreement. Before this, she and Mr. John had trashed issues arising from her sudden change of mind. First of all, she agreed to sponsor Anabel into the limelight and after setting eyes on her, her mind was changed. It was based on her new decision that John queried her.

Her new decision even though she wasn't aware of the previous, was explained to Anabel, by her father in the absence of Sharon who excused her office for them to freely talk with themselves.

After ten minutes, the scene would see her having deep words with Anabel.

"The moment I set eyes on you, I was astonished at your being. Giving you a loan is nothing to me but I hope you would also buy into my plights, as I will be offering you 10 million dollars for the deal"She briefed.

"I'm all ears mam" Anabel responded as she was willing to understand the reasons for her decision towards her.

"My son Gabriel the popular hip-hop singer, is never serious about having a family. All the young ladies around him are nothing but pests and parasites. They are useless, as they can't be of benefit to my family. His career as an entertainer, has choked his good conscience and this is why I needed a responsible woman for him; that would wife him for six months and possibly produce a child who would become an heir to my business empire and his sweats" Sharon highlighted.

"Ok, I get you madam but....

"I know you didn't plan for this and I know my son won't be your thirst but at least, consider the fact that my grandchild either male or female that would be born through you, would continue the family legacy. Gabriel is my only child and what annoys me the most is that those chickens he carries about don't get pregnant or maybe, they refused to.

I would be grateful if you take into consideration my views. Also, take note that I am not forcing pregnancy on you. It's just to see if something good would come out of this" She added.

"You've spoken cool ma, I will think about it and give you a reply," Anabel said.

"Ok, in three days, I will be expecting you two in the mansion, to know your decisions," Sharon said as she smiled at them.

She teased and hailed John for having a loving fellow as a daughter, and gave them three hundred dollars for transportation.

They departed with cheering faces, only to get home to hear and hear of Janes's hospitalization.
