Chapter 3: Young Master (2)

Holding a piece of meat, he returned outside to continue his training but encountered a red-haired girl returning, surveying the surroundings with a calm expression. She walked with dignity, her beauty unmatched for her age of around 17 years, yet her mature body belied her youth.

Elijah simply stared for a moment, nibbling on his meat before speaking. "Are you with the people who arrived?" he inquired.

Capturing her attention, she nodded. "Yes."

"Hmm... Ralgmen family," he muttered absentmindedly, walking past her and into the forest. 'She's powerful,' he thought to himself as he went.

"Strange," she commented, walking back towards the manor.

"Is everything alright, Young Miss?" Amy asked from the doorway.

"Who is that boy?" she inquired.

"He's the young master of this place, Young Miss."

"Young master?" She turned momentarily but brushed it off and entered the manor.

Far into the forest behind the manor, Elijah continued his training, enhancing his Chi and strength. Hours passed, and as the sun began to set, Elijah sat in a lotus position, meditating. Controlling his Chi became increasingly challenging, requiring his full concentration.

As hunger returned once more, he exclaimed, "I am hungry," but Amy stood nearby, smiling with an even brighter expression than before. Confused, Elijah didn't dwell on it much and asked, "What are you doing, Miss Amy?"

"Dinner will be served in two hours, so you need to prepare, Young Master," she replied before vanishing moments later.

'Damn, she's fast,' he thought, standing up and stretching. "I should get ready..."

After a while, Elijah sat at the table, eagerly awaiting his meal. He was practically salivating in anticipation. Ava smiled, resting her head on her arm, and asked, "Why are you always so happy when it's time to eat?"

"Because of the food," he replied.

"What about the food?" she inquired.

"FOOD," he emphasized. She chuckled without pressing further. The luxurious dining room gleamed with a brilliant light.

"Before I forget, you should prepare for a dinner party tomorrow," Ava said calmly. "Find a boy named Cain and befriend him."

Receiving his mission, Elijah maintained his excited expression and asked, "Will there be food?"

"Yes, there will be food, my little monkey," she replied, and Elijah reacted.

"Okay, Miss Ava," he said.

"Call me Ava if you don't mind," she suggested.

"Mmm... Okay. Ava, do you know anything about an ancient power called Chi or Internal energy?" he inquired, seeking information about this mysterious energy from his grandfather.

"Chi... I've never heard of it," she answered. When Elijah nearly lost hope, she added, "If it's an ancient energy, there should be some information about it in the library. You can check it out after dinner." Elijah smiled, his eagerness barely contained. "But if you don't mind me asking, how did you end up here?"

"Ah, that," he said, gazing into her emerald eyes with a smile. "I've lived with my grandfather since birth. I never knew my parents, and just two months ago, my grandfather passed away. So, I set out to see the world, where I met someone who I thought was my friend. But he ended up selling me to some creepy guy who enjoyed tasting my blood. That's the condensed version, of course."

"So, those scars on your body... were they from him or something else?" she inquired.

"I was tortured for four days straight. Some wounds were too deep to heal," he answered, and Amy entered the room, carrying plates of food, dispelling the somber mood Elijah had once held.

'Tough times... huh,' she thought, observing his excited expression. 'So, is that why you want to savor every moment of your life?' She smiled even more.

"Thank you, Miss Ava, for the food," he exclaimed with his mouth full.

"You shouldn't talk with your mouth full, Elijah," she scolded, noticing he wasn't listening.

"I..."
