Chapter 18: The Torture

The Torture

The beach was an amazing place for anyone looking to relax. Beyond its vacation-like atmosphere, it served as a training ground for the young masters and misses. With such a dual purpose, it was a truly special place.

Far from the protected area, in a location known only to Ava and Amy, Elijah floated beside Amy, seemingly asleep, muttering, "Ooo meat…."

"Are you sure about this?" Amy asked, ignoring Elijah's endless babbling about meat.

"This boy…" Ava sighed, replying, "Yeah, he can only grow when he's pressured. He should also master the basics if he really wants to improve. And since you told me not to take him to that island, this is our only option."

"He's growing quickly, but too much pressure can break even a diamond. All our efforts could be in vain," Amy spoke with concern.

"Okay," Ava agreed, looking at Elijah. "Elijah, I've finished preparing the food." Elijah's eyes opened, and he lifted his head sleepily.

"Food." It was a single word, but the two women understood him. He meant, "Where's the food?"

Ava chuckled. "Stand up, and let's start the lesson." Elijah shook his head and jumped up. He stretched a little, his eyes becoming more focused.

"Where are we?" Elijah looked around, only seeing trees. The place was extremely dark because the trees blocked out the sunlight.

"This is what I call the Level 1 difficulty training grounds," Ava said, a sword appearing in her hand. "Let's start."

"I'm fighting you?" Elijah inquired.

"Not yet," Ava replied, beginning her explanation. "All the Miracles have done something or something that made them unique."

"What's that?" Elijah asked.

"Having a unique power or ability, which might be a bloodline, element, and so on," Ava explained. "So, our focus will be on martial arts. Listen carefully: there are realms of martial arts that start from the Novice realm, to the Expert realm, Dominant realm, Master realm, and Grandmaster realm."

"....." Elijah stared blankly.

"You are currently in the middle of the Novice realm. Our goal is to train for two weeks without you eating. I can't tell you exactly how to reach the Expert realm as it differs from person to person. It's about making your martial arts your own."

"What do you mean?" Elijah asked.

"When you create a martial art, for example, the flash step, it was created to suit its creator, which limits you. Your body and style are different from where you learned it. You need to understand your body even more than you currently do. But reaching that realm will be easier for you since you already have some understanding of your own body," Ava explained.

"Okay, I'll train, but the no eating part is not allowed," Elijah retorted.

"Yes, it is, or we're not training," Ava insisted.

"Are you crazy, woman? Who lives two weeks without eating?" Elijah started getting annoyed.

"Just feed on your Chi," Ava said.

"A…" Before Elijah could say anything, Ava appeared in front of him, slashing her sword down.

"Less talking, more training."

Elijah's POV

Day One

On the first day, she gave me a book saying I needed it. I didn't understand it then, but now I know what she meant. Her beautiful appearance was just a cover-up for the evil being inside her. It was already hard to breathe at this high altitude, but she made me wear this mask that restricted my air intake. I didn't eat or sleep; she just kept attacking me again and again.

Day Two

She cut my arm off today, saying I lost focus. Next time, she's aiming for my little brother. What kind of woman does that? I won't lie; I was weirdly turned on by that. Breathing seems impossible sometimes, even reaching the point where I'm using my own energy to breathe and feed my hunger. This is my break time, with about two hours of sleep.

Day Three

I am tired and hungry. Please help me.

Day Four

I am starting to get used to the breathing mask. I'm not using my energy for breathing anymore. The hunger is still bothering me, but I can now focus. Oh yeah, that woman almost cut my little brother off, and if I had been a second late, it wouldn't have ended well. Sigh.

Day Five

We didn't fight today but learned more about physical control. I can now use my element to create a flying fist. I can send fist marks toward my enemies, but it's much weaker. My full burst lightning fist was like a mountain, and this fist's power is like that of a child. But there is progress. Also, do you have meat? No, I DON'T. Shit, I'm talking to myself.

Day Six

The training intensified. I am hungry, and I didn't sleep.

Day Seven

She said I could eat if I caught her, but I had to wear the training suit set to level 2 and weights on my arms and legs. The end result was failure. The most evil thing she did was taking me higher, just to put me somewhere with denser air. She told me not to use any breathing techniques for better Chi control. The result was that I seemed to start all over again from the beginning.

Day Ten

I couldn't write anything because she didn't allow me to sleep, but I feel more focused than before. She also allowed me to use my Lotus technique in the last few days, so I won't be able to write again until we finish.

Day Fourteen

It's the last day, babe. After today, we can finally eat something. Because of wearing weights and the training suit on level 2, my limbs got cut up a lot. If it wasn't for Miss Amy, I would be just a head.

Ava was holding back but became even more intense with her attacks. She also told me I was going to learn some technique from this, so let's see. Anyway, I'm mostly excited that I can now eat without any limits anymore. YEAHHHH
