Chapter 80: Dead Man #3 (2)

Adan and Julia had left the town, but now they were being followed by weak opponents. Among their pursuers were two at the Advanced tier, both at the beginner stage, alongside five at the Intermediate tier, all at the peak stage.

In terms of ranking, the two were (F-) rank, while the five were (G+).

Julia glanced behind, her brows furrowed in thought. 'I don't think Levi can hold out much longer against that guy. And why did they wait until we left the town to send stronger forces?'

She scanned the surroundings but sensed nothing. 'I can't detect anyone, but maybe they're too skilled to be sensed. This is the planet those two demonic women chose to send us to, after all.'

Jumping from tree to tree, Julia considered continuing on, as their pursuers kept a calculated distance, as if content to follow them. 'Overthinking won't get me anywhere. Let's go with the simplest option.'

What's the simplest option?

Beat it out of them. Simple and clear.

Julia suddenly halted, turning to face Adan. "This won't take long."

Adan, without a word, nodded and kept moving forward. Lightning flickered around Julia as she muttered, "It won't take long, but my techniques burn through a lot of mana. Seems like I've got something I need to work on."

Elsewhere

Kai darted through the forest and found Tank waiting for him. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be back at the ship?"

"Grawww," Tank growled. (I came to get you)

Kai tilted his head. "What do you mean, you came to get me?"

"Grawww graaww," Tank responded. (I knew you would be lost so I followed your smell)

"I'm not lost! I'm just taking a walk," Kai grumbled.

"Graww graww," Tank sighed, resting his head on the ground in defeat. (This is hopeless.)

"Shut up! I know exactly where I'm going," Kai snapped.

Tank groaned in disbelief.

Elijah's Location

Dead Man #3 stabbed at where Elijah had stood, but the lotus behind him, now with three leaves, blocked the attacks.

Ting ting ting.

Jumping back, Dead Man #3 was breathing heavily as he shifted into a stance. "Let's see how long that lotus of yours will protect you. Not much longer—you'll soon fall deep into a drunken dream and never wake up."

Dashing forward, a green mist surrounded his weapon as he attacked left and right.

In the Soul Dimension

Elijah stood before Alter Elijah and asked, "What can we do? Every time I leave my dimension, I feel drunker than before. I also can't just recklessly use my Chi to break the illusion without wasting all of my lotus defense, which is always active."

Alter Elijah stood there, deep in thought. "If this keeps up, we won't be able to escape this illusion... I got nothing."

"Without help from the outside, it's impossible to break free," Alter Elijah added.

"How about using the Yin form? It should have enough power to break through the illusion," Elijah suggested.

Alter Elijah considered this, showing a thoughtful expression before replying, "Yeah, that might work, but you still need more control over both your Chi and Yin Chi."

They fell silent for a while, before Alter Elijah finally said, "The best option is to destroy our limit barrier in the physical dimension."

"How would that help?" Elijah asked.

"When you break your limit, a shockwave will travel through both dimensions. Your strength will grow slightly, but your Chi will double, along with your spiritual energy. That surge will cause chaos within those energies, which will be the perfect moment to regain control over our Chi."

"Good thinking," Elijah said before disappearing.

In the Physical Dimension

Elijah stretched, preparing himself.

"Are you going to use that move?" Alter Elijah asked.

"Yeah, I'm not a fan of long-range fighting, but it's still useful," Elijah replied.
