"Ric, are you serious? Do you really think you can surpass your brother? Don't joke with me. I thought of handing some responsibility to you. But you dare enough to speak over the line." Peter Hill lashed out loudly with an angry face. 

Eric stood silently until his father calmed down. "Father, I'm asking for a chance to prove my worth to you. I won't mind even if you give me any impossible task. All I desire is the knowledge of Dao. I will do anything for it. Also, I don't want a family head position. Please show me a way to achieve what I desire." Eric replied in a humble tone without lifting his head.

Peter became silent as Ric didn't back down from his threats. Actually, Peter is testing to see whether Ric will take back his decision. But after seeing his resolve Peter finally decided to give a chance for Ric.
