Liquid Truth

"Did you do something with him?" Ethan asked. "Soph!"

He gasped and put a hand over his mouth, but it was obvious he was grinning.

"Who are you? I don't even know you anymore," he joked.

Sophia shook her head and lifted the glass to her lips once more but that time she went much slower.

"We didn't sleep with each other if that's what you're insinuating," she said. "Good thing I said no if he was going to go and disappear like this. I don't even have a phone number where I can reach him. It's worse than getting ghosted."

Ethan always treated Sophia like a younger sister even if they were the same age. She was so small and innocent-looking that he couldn't help worrying about her. In an attempt to comfort her, he put an arm around her and gave her a gentle squeeze. There was nothing he could say. He couldn't even talk trash about Luca because he didn't know anything about him other than that he made Sophia happy.
