The Devil's Corridor

In every city across the world, there's a place where the locals will tell you not to go.

In New Vista, that place was called the Devil's Corridor. To get there, you drove underneath an overpass and were met with the northernmost part of Oldtown where the scum of New Vista frequented most.

While a lot of alleyways in the city were starting to give off a similar feeling, even the police officers didn't go into the Devil's Corridor any longer. Good cop or bad, it was easier to turn a blind eye considering it was a problem built into the politics of New Vista. The impoverished and drug addicts were kept weak on purpose while the people on top lived lavishly.

For the average New Vistan, it was simply a dark place a busy highway passed through. You could look at it from your car window and hope that you never got to that point in your life. An easy dismissal of "I'll never be like that".
