His spearmint scent was like a warm fuzzy blanket engulfing her entire body while sitting in front of a fireplace and a winter storm raged outside. 

Sophia waking up and being able to smell Luca gave her instant relief. The tortuous world still existed beyond the walls of the hospital room but, as long as he was there, she could bear it for just a little longer. 

For a moment, all Sophia did was sit there and stare around the large hospital room that she had only just seemed to absorb. When she woke up the last time, it was like she had tunnel vision and searched for the scent of the one who comforted her yet wasn't able to find it. She could hardly remember what happened the last time she was awake.
