Her eyes were still swollen from her previous tears, but they began to water again for a far different reason than before. She tried to pull away and hide her face from him. 

“Promise me,” she uttered. “Promise me I'll never be in the same room as him ever again.” 

His fist clenched and he had to control his anger. 

Quieter than before he whispered, “I promise.”

Synopsis:

That was the trouble with having such a strong bond with someone. The pair could read one another like a book and tell when something was off or one of them was lying.

When Rachel returned home after she met with Vince, Carly noticed right away that her wife seemed to be down about something.

Rachel tried to put it off for as long as possible, but she eventually confessed that she thought something bad might happen to Luca. She wouldn't say anything more specific than that but it was hard to keep something like that from the one person in her life she trusted fully.
