Her eyes were still swollen from her previous tears, but they began to water again for a far different reason than before. She tried to pull away and hide her face from him. 

“Promise me,” she uttered. “Promise me I'll never be in the same room as him ever again.” 

His fist clenched and he had to control his anger. 

Quieter than before he whispered, “I promise.”

Synopsis: 
A tumultuous childhood made Sophia fight that much harder for peace in her adulthood. Yet it would take only one meeting to shatter the average life she led as a successful bakery owner in the center of New Vista. 

She found him on a pile of garbage in an alley, bleeding from a head wound. After taking him to the hospital, he woke up not knowing who he was. The hospital referred to him as “John Doe”.

While navigating her fresh breakup, the mystery man became her source of distraction and comfort. He has a far more tender and doting side than she ever expected. Is he only like this with her?

The longer he stayed by her side, the more change she noticed within herself. There’s an undeniable pull between the two of them. Call it instincts or attraction, it felt like something she couldn’t ignore. The more time they spend together, the stronger the pull becomes. 

When she finds out who he is, any shred of safety she had before seems to disappear as a target is put on her head.

How I Became The Alpha Mafia Boss' Target

It was amazing how similar alphas and omegas were to their respective groups once they were around one another.

When they finally went to the beach, the two alphas, Rachel and Luca, calmly walked the shore. They allowed water to wash over their feet as they went but for the most part, they kept their eyes on the water and made sure no one was getting too close.

The omegas, Ethan, Sophia, and Carly were more casual in their approach to a day at the beach. They were either floating on one of the large flotation devices provided by the resort or they were swimming in the relatively calm water. The only time they returned to shore was to get more sunscreen.
