Her eyes were still swollen from her previous tears, but they began to water again for a far different reason than before. She tried to pull away and hide her face from him. 

“Promise me,” she uttered. “Promise me I'll never be in the same room as him ever again.” 

His fist clenched and he had to control his anger. 

Quieter than before he whispered, “I promise.”

Synopsis: 
A tumultuous childhood made Sophia fight that much harder for peace in her adulthood. Yet it would take only one meeting to shatter the average life she led as a successful bakery owner in the center of New Vista. 

She found him on a pile of garbage in an alley, bleeding from a head wound. After taking him to the hospital, he woke up not knowing who he was. The hospital referred to him as “John Doe”.

While navigating her fresh breakup, the mystery man became her source of distraction and comfort. He has a far more tender and doting side than she ever expected. Is he only like this with her?

The longer he stayed by her side, the more change she noticed within herself. There’s an undeniable pull between the two of them. Call it instincts or attraction, it felt like something she couldn’t ignore. The more time they spend together, the stronger the pull becomes. 

When she finds out who he is, any shred of safety she had before seems to disappear as a target is put on her head.

Breakfast went off without a hitch and Ethan volunteered to do the dishes so Sophia could finish getting ready for the day.

Gus permitted the three to explore the city as long as they stuck together and allowed him to go. While it was extremely illegal to be armed in that country, it was the only measure he knew to take to ensure everyone's protection.

All in agreement with Gus's protectiveness, the friends were set on exploring the city as much as they could. They wanted to shop a little bit and update their wardrobes for the summer.

Since they were only able to bring limited items with them, it was about time for Luca to follow up on his promise that they could all have whatever they wanted as long as they stayed in his protection. While none of them needed the perks of being friends with Sophia, Luca spoiling her rubbed off on the others and none of them could complain.
