22. The Gay Cult

"Rubbish..."Janet snarled before opening the door to walk in...

"What did he want...?"Lily asked, hands folded across her chest and still smouldering in her angry look..

"He wanted to see you..."

"He has some nerves...."Lily retorted..

"Yeah he does..."

"I just hate him so much that i wish him and his boyfriend death..."

Janet sigh and drag in a slight breathe to calm the animosity inside her...."Yeah i know..."

"I should have given him a piece of my mind..."

"Lily, it's good you didn't come out, i didn't want you to.."

"I just hate him so much and thinking of watching him just walk away like that without me giving him a piece of my mind is really pissing me off right now..."

"I know Lily, trust me, i know the feeling.., but you've got to stop thinking about him, he's not worth it...."

"Yeah he isn't, but i still would have given him a piece of my mind..., how did he even find this place..?"

Janet shrugged, her mind jumping at the thought that it could be Daisy..."I don't know..."

"He'll pay for what he did to me..., he and his boyfriend..."

"Lily, you've got to stop thinking about that.."

"I can't stop thinking about it, if i can, i would, but i can't stop okay, i can't, not until i see them suffering the way i am..."

"Lily, you really need to calm down.."

"I'm calm.."

"No you're not..."

"Well forgive me if i can't be calm, he was fùcking another man.."Lily blare out

"I know, but you have to get that from your head..., cos the more you think about it, the more hurt you'll be..."

"I can't stop thinking about it Janet, it keep replaying in my head over and over.."

"So stop replaying it..."

"That's it, i can't...."

Janet sigh and quickly spun around when the door opened....., she sigh again on realization it's Daisy...

"What's going on...?"Daisy asked after a glance at their expression..."Did something happen..?"

"The wind blew in the wrong dirt..."Janet sneer before walking to sit on the bed .

"What does that mean...?"Daisy asked

"Tony.., he came here.."Janet said

"Tony came here...?"Daisy reiterated

"Yeah.."Janet replied with shrugged shoulders

"What did he want...?"Daisy asked curiously

"To see Lily..."

"Oh God Lily..., what did he say to you..?"

"Nothing..."Janet cut in..."I stopped him before he had the chance to see her..."

"So what did he say...?"Daisy asked

"Nothing.."Janet replied

"What do you mean nothing..?"

"I mean nothing important, he only said he wants to see Lily but i didn't let him, so he walked out..."

"I hate that man.."Lily chimes in...."Can you imagine his balls...?"

"I can.."Janet interject...

"He came here to find me after what he did..."

Daisy heaved a deep sigh..."You should have talked to him.."

"Are you serious...?"Janet balled in...."Talk to him about what.., how he's been banging other men...."

Daisy threw Janet an askance look..."You know what i mean Janet.."

"What i should have done was unload my three months of frustration on him and his boyfriend..."Lily sneer...

"Am wondering Daisy.."Janet chimes in..."How did Tony know this place...?"

"What are you insinuating, you think i gave him your home address....?"

"Am just asking.."

"Why would you ask me that...?"

Daisy waited for a reply, what she got instead was Lily's name been shouted from outside...., the three girls look at each other before rushing outside....

"How dare you show your face here again..."Lily growled walking towards Tony but Daisy reach her in time to drag her back...

"What have you done..?"Tony asked with unsettled voice...."Did you send men to attack Adam...?"

"Get out..."Janet scowled angrily...

"Did you...?"Tony boom out.

"Get out..."Janet shouted

"Wait.."Daisy cut in..."Did you say Adam was attacked...?"

"Yes he was attacked, turns out someone sent boys to beat him up..."

"Who the hell is Adam...?"Lily sneer

"The boy you caught me with in the hotel room.., his name is Adam..."

"So he was attacked...?"She asked, a taunting smirk accompanying her words....

"Did you send boys to attack him....?"Tony asked

"I hope he's dead.."Lily glowered.."Cos I'll be the happiest person if that husband fùcker dies..."

"Snap out of it.."Tony growled.."The boy is in the hospital fighting for his life.."

"Lily would never do that.."Daisy protested..

"Oh you think is a coincidence Adam is beaten up and hospitalised a day after she caught us in a hotel room..."

"Yes i did it..."Lily growled..."I sent boys to break his legs, i hope he dies a miserable death and i pray you join him real soon in hell you piece of thrash..."

"How could you stoop so low to do that to that innocent boy...."Tony said angrily

"I stooped low just the way you stoop low to fùck his ass..."

"Well you pray Adam doesn't die, cos if he does, this won't just be about us anymore..."Tony returned before walking out....

"I hate you..."Lily shouted after him before tears burst forth from her eyes....

"Okay, no tears Lily..."Daisy said taking her back into the house, Janet tagging behind them...

"Did you do it...?"Janet asked when they were in..

"Do what..?"Lily asked back wiping the tears from her eyes..

"You just said you sent boys to beat that boy..."

"Janet not now.."Daisy said

"What do you mean not now...?"

"I didn't do it.."Lily blare out

"You didn't..?"Daisy interjects

"No i didn't.."

"You said you did.."Janet said folding her arms across her chest

"I said that from anger.., i didn't do it..."

"Are you sure..?"Daisy asked

"Daisy, did you know that boy....?"Janet asked

Daisy grunt before turning to face her...."Who Adam..?"

"Yes Adam..."

"Yes.."

"You knew him..?"Lily chimes in..

"I did, i mean i do..."

"When...?"Janet said.."Before or after you saw him at the hotel with who shall not been mentioned..."

"Before..."

"Oh my God...!"Lily exclaimed shocked..."Did you know he was having an affair with my husband..?"

"No, i didn't know that, he lost his wallet, i found it and i called him, that is how i knew him and we didn't see for days before i saw him that day at the hotel room..."

"Well it's a good thing he's in the hospital...."Lily said tears rolling down her cheek again...

"How can you even say that Lily...."Daisy said and stood up immediately..."I gat to go..."

"Go where...?"Janet asked

"To get something across the street..., I'll be back before you noticed.."

"Helloo, I've already noticed..., what other notice are you talking about..?"

"I'll be back..."Daisy said before opening the door to step outside....

Janet sigh and shift her gaze back to Lily..."You've got to stop crying..."

"I know.."She sniffled...."I just get this bad vibes whenever i think about how he hurt me..., i hate him Janet..."

"So what are you going to do...?"

Daisy's hair fluttered in the air as she walked into the hospital hallway, her clothes clung to her body and her bag in her hand, she looked ahead in hopes of finding anyone to tell her she was in the right hospital...., determined and curious to know what really happened to Adam, she trudged forward and heaved in a deep breathe when she saw Tony on the far end of the hallway pacing around....

Face flushed with curiosity, she hurried along until she was few steps away from Tony...

"Is he okay...?"She asked the moment she got to him...

"What are you doing here...?"Tony groaned at her..

"What do you mean what am i doing here.., i know that boy..., is he okay..?"

Tony look away before turning to face her again.."He's bad.."

"How bad..?"

"See for yourself through the window..."Tony said pointing...

Taking a deep breathe, Daisy followed the direction of his finger, when she got there, she stopped to face him to be sure she was at the right window, when he nodded, she took a few steps closer to the window, she opened the curtains and almost fainted from the sight....

She took off her hands from the curtain as Adam's bloodied body got glue to her head...., she steady her breathe and retraced her steps to Tony again...

"Who did that to him...?"She asked anxiously

"Didn't you hear your friend, she sent boys after him.."

"Lily would never do that.."Daisy snapped in defense..."You know her, she wouldn't..."

"Then who did it...?"

"His face is all bloody, what happened to him...?"

"He was rushed here by his friends, his legs bones are broken, i doubt if he'll ever walk again..."

"Oh my God..."

"He was brought in unconscious, some of the nurses are already side talking that he would survive..."

"Oh God..., what animal would do that to him...?"

"I don't know..."

"Was it the homophobes, cos he sounded so scared of them earlier today.."

"Earlier today..!"

Daisy swallowed..."He came to my store and.., he wanted to apologise for what he did.."

"That was when....?"

"I think an hour, 2hours ago.."

"When...?"He yelled

"Don't yell at me.."Daisy fling back..

"Am not yelling, just tell me the exact time he left your store.."

"I don't know, but i do know it hasn't been long..."

"He must have been attacked after he left your store, i need to know precisely when he left..."

Before Daisy could reply, a voice interrupted from behind and she quickly spun around to face the person....

"Where is your wife...?"One of the boys from the two boys that joined them asked..

"Boyo, what has my wife got to do with this....?"Tony asked

"You think we don't know..."The other boy cut in..."Adam told us everything that went down in the hotel room..."

"What happened in the hotel has nothing to do with this.."Tony said

"Tony what's going on..?"Daisy chimes in with a cringe at the two boys...

"Are you his wife...?"Boyo asked

"No.."Daisy replied sharply..

"My wife has nothing to do with this..."Tony said

"With all due respect sir..."The other boy said..."What do you think we are..?, stupid.., you think it's a coincidence your wife caught our boy with you in a hotel room and the next day he's fighting for his life in the hospital...., even a little boy will solve the maths..."

"Young boy, what's your name...?"Tony asked

"Basher..."

"I mean your real name.."

"That's my real name.."

"I've donated a lot in this course..."Tony said..."So believe me when i say my wife has nothing to do with what happened to Adam..."

"We have a rule Mr Tony.."Boyo jump in.."You know the rule.., if anyone messes with one of us, he messes with all of us, and as at now, your wife is the centre of attention.., so where the hell is she hiding....?"

"What do you want with her..?"Daisy cut in..

"We weren't talking to you..."Basher riposte..

"I know you weren't t...

"That means mind your damn business lady..."Boyo shut her up...

"Do not talk to me like that..."Daisy fling back infuriated "I....

"You want something to shut you up.."Boyo snarled..."Cos a bullet always does the job.."

Daisy's heart froze with fear..

"Do not do nothing to my wife..."Tony warned..

"You know how the cult works Mr Tony..."Boyo said..."If our boy dies, someone will have to go down for it..."

"The cult isn't built to kill.."Tony snapped

"It is now.."Boyo retorted, eyed Daisy before walking out, Basher tagging behind him...

"What's going on...?"Daisy asked after the boys were gone..."What's this thing about a cult...?"

"It's a gay cult.."

"Yes, a gay cult, they fight against homophobic acts..."

"So they formed a cult to fight homophobes...?"

"Yeah.."

"And you've been sponsoring them...?"

Daisy almost hissed at the bitter truth..."You're sponsoring criminals..."

"Just paranoid, this shit is getting serious Tony, they're asking for Lily..., what do they want with her...?"

"Are you sure cos those guys sound really serious..."

"They won't okay, you tell Lily to just keep her mouth shut..."

"If they were built to fight homophobes, what if what happened to Adam isn't homophobic..?"

"So what are you Tony, a leader of the cult...?"

"Am not the leader, i don't even know who the leader is, am not part of them.."

"So you just give them money to buy guns and bullets...?"

Tony exhale but didn't reply...

"Tony.."

"What are you even doing here...?"Tony asked changing the subject

"You really asking me that again, i told you i came to see Adam.."

"Why...?"

"Cos he's someone i know.."

"Really, is that the only reason you came, or you just came to check if he's dead.."

"Jesus..."She whined in revulsion....

"Do not Jesus me..., you're with Lily on this.., you heard what she said, she sent boys to beat him up, look at the damage she had caused.."

"Will you stop accusing your wife...?"

"Am not accusing her, she confessed to it.."

"She said it because she was angry..."Daisy retorted

"How would you know, she's angry, angry people do things people thinks they'll never do..."

"Lily didn't do it.."

"Okay.., i really want to believe that..."

"Did you do it...?"Daisy dared to ask

"Do what..?"

"Attacked Adam"

"Are you kidding me...?"

"I have every reason to believe you did it..."

He scoffs.."That's funny.."

"I told Adam never to contact you again, who knows, maybe you grew furious and pounce on him and beat him badly..."

"You're nuts...."He sneer

"Am i..., or you just don't want to admit it.., you don't even looked bothered, you're calm.."

"I've always been calmed..."He yelled..."And do not tell me i attacked him, i love that boy..."

"That's more reason i believe you attacked him..."

"Or you attacked him..."He said, eyes twitching in anger..

"What..?"

"You saw us both nàked in the hotel room, and then you said he came to see you earlier at your workplace, who knows what went down there, who knows if he pissed you off and you went all gangster on him.."

"I didn't do that..."

"I didn't attack him either..."

"Alright Tony, i will take my leave.."

"Please do.."He said infuriated

She dragged in a deep breathe and left him there, she gave him a few pace before bringing out her phone to call Janet...

She waited patiently for her to answer the phone all the while thinking about Adam's condition...

"Are you still getting something...?"Janet voice rumbled from the other end..

Daisy rolled her eyes..."The shit is getting serious..."

"What shit...?"Janet asked

"Where are you..?"

"Am outside..."

"Where is Lily..?"

"She's inside..."

Daisy breathe in.."I want you to take a few steps from the house, i don't want Lily eavesdropping on our conversation..."

"Daisy what's going on.."Janet troubled voice sounded

"Have you done it..?"

"Yeah.."

Daisy looked back to be sure no one was eavesdropping or following her, she sigh and continue..."The boy is in a bad shape.."

"What boy..?"

"Adam.."

"Where are you..?"

"At the hospital.."

"Daisy you said you were going to get something.."

"I lied okay, if i had told you i was going to the hospital, you both would have bombast me with questions..."

There was silence before Janet's voice came again.."So how bad is he..?"

"Very bad..., his body is all bloody like some animal attacked him, Tony told me he broke his legs bones.."

"Wait, Tony is there...?"

"Yeah, i left him inside, am outside the hospital..."

"So what did Tony say.."

"He still thinks Lily sent boys to attack him..."

"But she didn't..."

"That's what we need to know Janet, do you think Lily did it...?"

"Okay, i heard her talking to someone on the phone this morning about taking care of the thrash..."

"Of the thrash.."Daisy reiterated shocked

"Yeah.."

"Who was she talking to...?"

"I don't know, i didn't ask..."

"Why didn't you tell me this earlier..?"

"It skipped my mind okay"

Daisy heart hammered with fear that what Lily said from anger might be true....."You really think she'll do that...?"

"Laura broke her husband head with a baseball bat, we don't know what Lily is capable of, she could do worse..."

"She's our friend Janet, we've known her for long.., we should know what she's capable of.."

"Look, i don't know okay.."Janet replied sharply..."What's going on there..?"

"Some boys are asking for her.."

"What boys..?"

"Gay cult boys.."

"Gay cult.., is there a thing like that..?"

"Am as surprised as you are girl, they say they fight homophobes and Tony is sponsoring them..."

"Jesus, what other thing is that gay man doing that we don't know..."

"Might be alot..."

"So the boys think Lily did it...?"

"Yeah..."

"What if they traced her to my house...?"

"They won't, Tony didn't say where she is.."

"What if they do Daisy...?"

"Let's pray they don't...."Daisy said feeling afraid..."Just tell Lily to stay inside okay..."

"Okay..."

"Don't let her go out Janet.."

"I heard you..."

"I need to ask someone else if he knows something.."

"Ask who..?"

"I'll tell you when i come over..."Daisy said waiting a bit for Janet's reply before ending the call.

Without knocking, Daisy pushed her house door open...

"You should really learn to knock..."Matthew said before refocusing his gaze on the wrestling match...

"What did you do to Adam...?"Daisy growled

"Adam what...?"

"Adam Adam.., what the hell did you do to him...?"

Matthew raise his brows.."I have no idea what you talking about.."

"Adam is hospitalised, turns out someone broke his legs and beat him up and you've always say you'll break his legs whenever you see him..."

"So you think i did it...?"

"I know you did it.."

"I don't even know who the guy is, i only heard his name over your phone call.."

"And since then you've been obsessed with it, did you beat Adam up cos he's near death..."

"You're talking thrash..."

"Do not shit me with this Matthew, i need to know, did you or did you not attack Adam..?"

"I didn't, I've not left the house since you left yesterday, of which i called you but it turns out you blocked my number, I've been waiting for you here ever since, where did you sleep last night..?"

"Non of your beeswax...."Daisy retorted and walked to her room...

"How long are we going to continue doing this...?"Matthew shouted after her....

Janet quickly woke up at the sound of noises, the noises engulfed her, completely capturing her brain, rendering any logical thought or conclusion impossible....., then there came the clatters, the clanged and rush of footfalls..., she jump from the bed and woke Lily up...

She looked at her time, it was 2:15AM midnight...

Her heart almost jumped from her heart when an unearthly sound rumbled from outside like an explosion before a thunderous knock rumbled on her door....

Fear held her captive making her heart beat in irregular rhythm....

"What's going on.."Lily mutter quietly when the knock stopped and once again an unusual silence cloud outside...

"I don't know.."Janet whisper back, her heart hammered when the knock came again, then came the chaotic laughters and cranking metals...

Scared to death, she took out her phone and call Daisy who answer after the third ring....

"Daisy..."She whisper..

"Janet..."Daisy called out from the other end..

"There is something going on here.."She said gently

"What is going on..?"

The knock came again making both girls jump with fear..

"Who's there...?"Lily shouted, heart racing with fear..

Swish of bicycles wheels noise chattered from the window, a gentle knock on the window followed, before the distorted voices and loud laughter..

"Janet what's going on..?"Daisy's troubled voice sounded again...

When the loud knock came on the door again, Janet had no option but to scream loudly....
