41- Life Goes On

"For the next class, we gonna cover two chapters. So, be prepare everyone. There'll a hill to climb and sea to dive,"

The whole class sigh as they know it's gonna be hell for them. 3 hours lecture is torturous enough for them. Covering two chapters within that time...

Their heads will get smoked!

"Soft reminder for you guys to submit the assignment. I was informed by your seniors that all of you had been sorted into several group for mentorship program. You can use the program to ask for your fellow mentor's help. However..." the young lecturer gives them a sharp glare before continue. "Don't you ever dare ask them to do it for you! I'm deducting marks if I find out," her warns sound eerie. But, somehow it is a good warning.

"Who's gonna ask them to do it anyway! Probably the table will turn against us," says Han. Pan chuckles as she hangs her hand on his shoulder.

"Did Senior Ta gave you a hard time?" asks Pan. Han sighs, rubbing his nose bridge.

"He technically roasted our ass with his non stop notes and tips. I can't even digest after 15 minutes," Han replies. Pan can only laughs in tiny, sharing a bit of pain with her classmate.

"I heard Senior Zee's team is quite different. They meet up almost every night, burning fire and even the competition is fierce among them..." Yara whispers softly. Her eyes glare around, looking at a group of students who still discussing the lecture notes in serious mode.

"Looks like valedictorian students were born different..." Han glares at them.

"Valedictorian? Them?" Pan frowns.

"Yes. They are a group of student who will fight for the title. Since the mentor himself is a candidate for valedictorian, everyone inspired to be one..." Yara replies.

This new fact is mindblowing to Pan. She knew Zee is a bright student, a hardworking ball who leap a year and soon to be graduate along with his seniors. But, becoming a valedictorian is not something that she imagines for Zee.

"I got a text by Senior Aye. Did you get one, Pan?" asks Yara. Pan, who is awake from her daydreaming, quickly checks her phone.

"Yeah. I got one. I don't get it. Why he never gathers everyone at the same time? Today is us, the next meeting will be someone else..." Pan starts to whine about the mentorship meeting.

"Maybe he can't handle a big crowd. And to be honest, we can focus more if there's only one or two people at the same time," says Han.

"I don't know... But it seems like he purposedly arrange the meeting like that," Pan jolts her brows and smirk.

"What do you mean?" asks Han.

Pan glares at Yara, then she looks at Han and gives him a teasing smirk. Han immediately receives the signal and snarkily grin at Yara.

"Ahhhh... I got it. He wants to spend a special moment with someone special..."

Yara's eyes grows bigger. She playfully smack Pan's shoulder, knowing that the girl is the starter of the tease.

"What?!"

"Don't make up stories okay, he doesn't even notices me. His eyes always goggle on you!"

"That's a lie..." Pan shakes her head, in denial. Yara sighs as she leaves Han and Pan and walks straight to the entrance.

"Why she always jolts up whenever we tease her with Senior Aye?" Han asks.

"Maybe she had the same issue like you and Senior Kim," Pan smirks.

"Or, the same issue with you and Senior Zee..."

"What do you mean?"

Han smiles at Pan.

"Everybody fancied you with that Econ boy... What's his name again?"

"Cray," Pan replies in short.

"Ah, okay. Everyone ships you with him. But, I don't think he suits you well," says Han. "If you can see how Senior Zee is looking at you... I think you'll understand what I meant," Han continues while smiling at Pan.

Pan halts. She stares at Han, feeling bummer. The kiss that Zee gave him few weeks ago still lingers around her lips. But ever since the last conversation, when both of them agreed to end things in a proper way, things feel complicated between them.

One day they fight, the next thing they were hugging.

Complex.

"You're watching too much lakorn!"

"Even lakorn sometimes based on true story or real people," Han replies. He stares at Pan, trying to arrange words for his next question.

"Pan?"

The girl's eyes gaze at him.

"Is there anything between you and Senior Zee?" Han's question makes Pan almost chokes. She frowns as sweats starting to form on her neck.

"Why are you asking me that?" Pan spurs words one by one, carefully.

Han shuts himself. He is dying for some answers from Pan, but he doesn't know where to start.

"It's just... The way you guys look at each other, it feels like you two had history before. Pan, the way you look at Senior Zee, as if he was someone that closed to you. Senior Zee always had this kind of look when he stares at you. Especially, when you were talking to other men; for example Cray. He always gave them a deathly gaze, like a possessive man," says Han.

Pan sighs. She stares at her shoes, unable to answer the question.

"Hey, it's okay if you can't give me the answer right now. But, I just want you to know, if anything happens, you can always count on me," says Han. He decided to give Pan some space. Forcing will bring only harm. He doesn't want to lose a friend just because he's being nosy.

"Thanks, Han..."

"No problem. Hey, I'm hungry! Let's find something to eat?" Han grins.

"What about Yara?"

"Don't worry. She's around here somewhere. We can always find her. She's won't go too far, her legs are short.." Pan lets a loud laugh escapes from her lips. She playfully smack Han's shoulder.

"I'll tell her about that..."

"Please don't. This is a bruise from last week. I don't wanna get another bruise," Han begs. Pan sticks out her tongue and tries to escape from there before Han pursues her from behind.
