Mr Kurtz heath condition wasn't improving at all and Sebastian still wasn't aware about it, because nobody in his family informed him about his father's bad state. Mr Kurtz has been hospitalized since that incident happened to him.
Oliver fought his way, to see that he still retains his father's company. He obviously knew that many people wanted to take over the Kurtz company, but he remembered the promise he made to Sebastian.
It was a day to his swearing in, and Mrs Kurtz visited her husband at the hospital he was admitted in. She wanted him to know about the good news and he also wanted to be present the next day, when their son would be sworn in as the new manager of the Kurtz company.
...
"My love, I came with good news." Mrs Kurtz said to him, romancing his hand on the bay he was laid.
"What could that be?". He asked her with a shaking voice.
She frowned her face, after hearing the sound of his voice. It was always made her sad, knowing that her husband wasn't improving at all. All she wanted for him was to get better and watch their second son handle the company in his own hands.
"I can't wait to see you come out of here hale and hearty." She said to him with tears in her eyes.
"Enough! Go on with what you were saying earlier." He ordered her, trying not to get emotional.
"Oliver would be sworn in tomorrow in your seat." She said to him with a smile, wiping off her tears.
Mr Kurtz was very pleased with the good news, and he laughed out with his deep coarsed voice.
He started choking all of a sudden, and Mrs Kurtz hurriedly passed a cup of water for him, that was on top of a high stool next to his sick bay.
"I'm sorry my love." She apologized, assisting him with the water.
"This is the best news I've heard in my entire life." Mr Kurtz replied, slowly drinking up the water.
Mrs Kurtz couldn't hide her tears any longer. She stood up from her husband's sick bay, leaving the ward. She rested against a wall outside the ward. She cried out her eyes in her own arms, wondering how her husband ended up in such a bad condition. She was scared of losing him someday, because his health kept deteriorating.
While she was weeping outside, Hazel caught up with her on her way inside. She was surprised to find her mother crying outside the ward, and wondered if Mr Kurtz had told her something that hurt her dearly.
"Mum why are you here sobbing?". Hazel asked her curiously.
"I'll be fine. Go inside and take care of your father." Mrs Kurtz said to Hazel.
Hazel ignored her words, grabbing Mrs Kurtz hands. She looked at Hazel's face with her teary eyes. It has been so long she cried infront of any of her children. She has always painted that colour of being someone without emotions infront of her kids. Sadly, her husband was the one breaking her heart now.
"Is this about father's health?". Hazel questioned her.
"I'm not in the mood for this conversation. I'll get going." Mrs Kurtz said to her, about leaving.
Hazel pulled her backwards, while Mrs Kurtz wondered where she got the guts from. Hazel wasn't in for her stubbornness at the moment. She definitely knew that Mrs Kurtz was hurting in the inside and the least that she could do, was to console her.
"How dare you pull me in such manner?". She asked Hazel.
Hazel pulled her into her arms, giving her a warm hug. Mrs Kurtz needed that hug, because she was slowly dying inside of her. She didn't realize when she started crying again in Hazel's arms.
Hazel pat her back slowly, crying with her.
"I want your father to get well again. I miss him so much." Mrs Kurtz cried out.
"Me too. I miss father so much and it also breaks my heart seeing you so hurt like this." Hazel said to her in tears.
After pouring out their emotions together, both of them entered inside Mr Kurtz ward. He was already asleep. They decided to leave him alone to sleep for a while, while they go back and prepare for Oliver's swearing in that would be commencing the next day.
.....
✓✓The Next Day✓✓
Oliver was already up from bed, rehearsing his speech as the new manger of the Kurtz company. He never knew that being in power is actually a nice experience. He couldn't stop thanking Sebastian, even in his absence.
Hazel met him at Mr Kurtz working chamber, where he was practicing his speech for the day. She wasn't please to find him inside their father's working chamber.
"Oliver, you shouldn't be here at all." Hazel said to him with a harsh tone.
"Hazel please not today." Oliver begged her.
"All you care about is this position and not father's health." Hazel said to him.
Oliver turned deaf ears on her reants and she had no choice but to leave him alone. She walked out of the chamber very pissed at him.
Oliver rounded off his rehearsal, heading upstairs to his bedroom, to freshen up at the bathroom.
Mrs Kurtz was already dressed up and she wanted to fetch her husband from the hospital to witness Oliver's swearing in. He would be placed on a wheel chair, since his health affected his walking steps.
Hazel entered inside Mrs Kurtz bedroom, to complain about Oliver to her.
"Hazel you aren't yet dressed?". She asked her with a surprised look.
"I seriously don't want to be part of this mum." Hazel said to her.
"You're kidding. There's nothing you can do to stop Oliver from being the new manager of your father's company." Mrs Kurtz told her bluntly.
Hazel finally realized that she was all alone. Indeed, she couldn't do anything about it. She was still believing that Mr Kurtz will get better one day, and return back to his position. She felt like they were robbinv him off his position and she wasn't pleased with it at all.
Oliver finally got ready for the day and his outfit was so formal. His shoes were one of the best Italian design's made. Mrs Kurtz prepared nice meals for breakfast because of the special occasion.
**Breakfast....
Everyone was seated at the table, eating in silence. Oliver was forced to break the silence, because the meals were very delicious and he had to commend Mrs Kurtz handwork.
"Mum this is superb." He said to her with a mouthful, showing his right thumb to her.
"Anything for my new manger." She praised him.
Hazel ignored them, eating quietly. She just couldn't wait for Mr Kurtz to get better and take back his position from Oliver.
Oliver exchanged eye contacts with her, but she removed her eyes immediately.
They were finally done with breakfast and everyone left the Kurtz mansion in a limousine ordered by the company.
Mrs Kurtz decided to go to the hospital alone, to fetch Me Kurtz. He was already waiting for her in his wheel chair.
When she entered inside the ward, she was happy to see him smiling again.
"I'm so sorry that I'm late." She said to him.
"Let's start going. I want to see my new heir to my company." Mr Kurtz said to her with a smile.
Mrs Kurtz nodded her head, placing her hands on the wheel chair. She pushed him out of the ward slowly, heading outside of the hospital. He was transferred inside a black jeep that Mrs Kurtz came with at the hospital. He really missed the outside world. He knew that he had short time to spend with his family, so he wanted to enjoy every bit of it.
They arrived at the company and Oliver was already presenting his opening speech as the to be manager of the Kurtz company. His eyes caught up with his father's eyes and he was glad to see him present at his swearing in. Hazel approached Mr Kurtz after sighting him.
"Dad, are you sure that you also want this?". Hazel asked him.
"Yes I do. Since Sebastian abandoned his rightful position, I'm happy that Oliver took over it courageously."Mr Kurtz said to her.
"One day, you'll surely get well again." Hazel assured him in tears, giving him a tight hug.
Oliver was successfully sworn in as the new manager of the Kurtz company. The keys to Mr Kurtz former office was handed over to Oliver by Mr Kurtz. It was one of Mr Kurtz happiest moments in his last days.
